best way to share catalog among computers?

I have multiple computers that can be used for editing, but never at the same time since I can't use the desktop and my laptop at the same time. I normally copy the catalog and thumbnail files between the 2 computers. However, the thumbnail file is getting huge, about 45 G now. It is becoming a prob...

dynamic search and filter jpg only

I have versioned images that are raw .cr2 for the primary and jpg for other versions. I use Dynamic search to select a group of images. I want to see only the jpg versions so I click filter, type, and my only choices are ALL Types and CR2. I am not offered the jpg choice. If I do NOT use dynamic sea...

copy image search results to cd/dvd

Is there any easy way to burn the results of a search to cd/dvd? I have a rather complex search that is returning the correct set of images and I would like to burn this set to a cd or dvd. Is there something that will do this? If so, I haven't found it. The share/copy to folder doesn't seem to work...

Re: problem with view custom thumb info %FilePath

Thanks. I didn't realize that was possible. That will work for most of my locations.

Fit %FilePath in custom thumb info

I have added the custom thumb info %FilePath to the view. If the FilePath is LONG, it wraps to the next line, but that next line is cut off on the bottom of the image window/box so that it is not legible. I tried adding a <FONT size="7"> but all it did is make it smaller. The wrap is still cut off b...

whew! That makes sense. That means I have almost 61,000 images in the catalog. And at least another 40,000 or so that need to be added....

Re: photo supreme number of images in catalog

hmmm, the sum of "catalog labeled" and "not labeled" is not the same as the sum of "in sync" and "out of sync". several of the pairs that I would expect to yield the same total are not doing so. Is there a way to make it rebuild these numbers?

Re: assign new label with path

the dialog that comes up with create new is good if only the end of the hierarchy is being created new. In my example, what if I have a new surname and new person. Do I then have to create the surname and then the new person? Is there a way to create both together? Regarding delimited keywords, I th...

assign new label with path

in idiprov5 when assigning a new label that has not been used before, I can enter event::birthdays::family::surname::person and get the complete hierarchy in one step. Is there something similar in photo supreme? I can't seem to find it. The "::" doesn't work. nor does the delimited keyword characte...

labels and versions

Given a version set with multiple images. I change the labels on the selected version, will the change automatically propagate to all the other images in the set or do I need to force it somehow? In idimager v5 I often used ctrl alt rt arrow to propagate changes on the selected image to the other im...

Re: ps info stored in pic compatible with v5 info?

thanks! That real user info about compatibility is what I am looking for. I will be testing and being cautious. I wish there was a compatibility document that would help set psu up for maximum idi pro compatibility. Still would rather have paid to get a new vXXX idimager than to start with a newly d...

Re: ps info stored in pic compatible with v5 info?

I have idi pro v5 with a separate database from psu. I did copy my idi pro v5 database to the location of the psu database and let it update. The databases will be separate. I am more concerned about the data stored in a picture (make it simple - a jpg) that may be in both (different) databases and ...

Re: ps info stored in pic compatible with v5 info?

I understand that if I change a label in either program that information will be changed. I want to know that the changed information will be available to both programs. I realize that if v5 writes a label to a file, and the file is already in psu, psu will have to reread the metadata to update its ...
