Just a guess: Try selecting the image, right click it and select "Metadata" and then "Read Metadata from File."

Re: Rieck's Controlled Vocab & New PS install

I have to wonder why my Favorites wouldn't be stored in the database. That's because I was using build 2074 when I used Supreme's backup and restore capabilities. There is only one more recent build.

Re: Rieck's Controlled Vocab & New PS install

Good to know that everything worked so well!

I'm envious of you that your Favorites were automatically restored. Fortunately, if I had to pick the one type of setting that I wouldn't mind having to manually recreate, it would be the Favorites because of the ease and speed of recreating them.

Re: Unexpected Labels

When I read my previous post, it occurred to me that there are so many issues that make it so complex that it becomes a bit difficult to comprehend. So, to keep things simple, I recommend the following steps to solve the problem you brought to light in your thread and to make other improvements you ...

Re: Unexpected Labels

Your settings clearly indicate that the issue doesn't have anything to do with synonyms unless you had enabled that setting when you used IDimager and had never synched the image files with the catalog until using Supreme. That's because the setting that writes them to the image files is not enabled...

Re: Unexpected Labels

You used to use IDimager, the predecessor of Supreme. It might be helpful for you to be aware that Supreme works fundamentally the same as IDimager insofar as all of your issues are concerned. I have never experienced the issue you described using IDimager or Supreme. Does PS somehow assign labels o...

Re: Suggestions for filing dead people?

The thought just occurred to me that I would catalog the names of people in the image the same whether they are alive or dead. If you want to indicate that they are dead, you might want to indicate that fact in the catalog label name itself or in the Description text field of the catalog label. If y...

Re: Suggestions for filing dead people?

If you want to use catalog labels, you could create a new Category, such as People Not in Image , and add the names of the people to that category. Once you've done that, the keywords won't be displayed in the IPTC field you mentioned. If you don't want those names to be embedded in the image file, ...

Re: Network & Reliability?

I would also like to point out to the OP that Hert just announced a beta release. That is always a crazy intense time, getting all the outstanding issues fixed as much as possible. it's entirely possible that Hert has fallen behind on his emails. I actually doubt that that's the explanation. If it ...

Re: New User – Some Questions

1. Click the View icon located in the upper right corner of the window to display Sorting options. 2. Click that same View icon to display the Zoom parameter. That parameter affects the size of the thumbnails. (The term, "zoom," is inaccurately used in that context and is very confusing.) 3. Click t...

Re: Strange color no color management

I solved the problem by deleting the color profile in the JPEG and assign it back (using Media Pro) but the reason for this behavior will remain a mystery. That makes me wonder if the profile had not been actually assigned even though the software indicated that it had been. If I'm right about that...

Re: Rieck's Controlled Vocab & New PS install

You won't import the photos into Supreme; they are already part of your catalog. Be sure to follow the instructions explained in the Quick Start Maintenance Guide that I mentioned and everything should be just fine.

Re: Purge Unused Keywords Version 19.8

I assume you are actually referring to unused catalog labels rather than unused keywords. That's because a keyword by definition can never be unused. To be even more precise, I think you're referring to unassigned catalog labels. There are two issues potentially at play -- identifying the unassigned...
