Re: Riecks's Controlled Vocab

The person who made that happen is SarahKM. Notice that TGM1 is a lot larger than TGM2. My notes from years ago indicate that it took me only ten minutes to import the small file but that it took an hour to import just one half of the large file. You might want to review the small file first before ...

Re: Riecks's Controlled Vocab

I would have thought it better to use the plural form :?: If your keyword is oranges then a search for orange or oranges would surely find it. However, if your keyword is orange, then the search for oranges probably would not find it. I don't think it matters whether you use the plural or singular ...

Re: Riecks's Controlled Vocab

Phil, If I remember correctly, once you license the product for use with a particular program, the license provides free access to the product for all of the other programs. Check into that, as that might be your solution for using it with both Supreme and Lightroom. Whatever the export/import capab...

Re: Riecks's Controlled Vocab

Once you see the entire vocabulary, I don't think you'll ever be concerned about needing an update; it's very comprehensive. I've never received notification of an update in the 8 years I've been using the product and have never wanted one. You could contact David and ask when he last updated the pr...

Re: Riecks's Controlled Vocab

I've happily used it for about 8 years since I first began cataloging my images. There are no limitations about changing it in any way. It seems that almost every term has synonyms included, often many synonyms for each term. So, if you enable Supreme's Write setting to write synonyms, you're going ...

Re: Catalog mess - cities + states

My Read and Write settings are shown below. To conduct your test, I temporarily disabled Auto Sync and enabled reading of the delimited keywords. All other settings remained as shown below during the test.

Re: Catalog mess - cities + states

I would prefer a configuration that permits me to read delimited keywords, but without the drawback of generating Miscellaneous ones from simple keywords... I just now tested it on my system and reading the delimited keywords doesn't do that. I may not have set up the exact situation you are contem...

Re: Catalog mess - cities + states

You are correct that I have permanently disabled the reading of delimited keywords. That's because no file I would ever work with would ever have them. If you are working with image files for which only you have added metadata and for which are already in your catalog, I can't think of a reason to e...

Re: Catalog mess - cities + states

My recommendation: Temporarily disable Auto Synch. Permanently disable "Write delimited keywords." Permanently disable "Read delimited keywords." Manually synch using Ctrl+S all of your files in batches of about 10,000 each. Enable Auto Synch (because you temporarily disabled it in the first step). ...

Re: Catalog mess - cities + states

I think it would be more effective if you would post your current Read and Write settings because they have so much to with workflow, which only you can determine. Then I could easily make recommendations about changes to settings, including temporary changes to be made during the process of elimina...

%FileName By the way, any time you're trying to remember any macro command, simply right click the text field to display the context menu that provides the content (name) of each macro. When a particular name is selected, the corresponding macro is automatically assigned, which also allows you to se...

Re: Access Violation (0) when press Esc in LAP

I sure do wish you guys would stop discussing the "access violation" message because I fear you're going to jinx me. I used to regularly experience it using IDimager Version 4 and 5. Since upgrading from IDimager to Supreme Version 2, I have never experienced it in Version 2 or 3.

Re: Login Credentials

Out of curiosity, why does the single-user version need passwords? If someone needs to protect access to the catalog, they can set a password in Windows. I would have no idea how to do that and wouldn't have to expect to learn. It's the job of the software developer to make everything as user-frien...
