Re: Working on Metadata

Recommend running this program to test a HD and get some data before failure... has helped me in the past when I thought I had a hard drive on its way to failure... http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details ... smart.html - enjoy!

If only I had the time to test - seems like I am playing catch-up with many things these days... :o

Re: Managing Versions Mk III - WIP

Thanks Hert - I believe you are correct and if I did have it still active after beta - it was for a very early release version... if the SVG routines have been optimized since, I have not tried them but will now... Many thx for the info about optimization!

Re: Managing Versions Mk III - WIP

Thanks David - that is a very interesting solution and approach... you mention the data takes a noticeable amount of time to update and that has been my experience with custom thumb info as well - I had some many icons and thumb details that it took too long to redraw the screen upon scrolling and I...

Re: Unexpected result in search for Text AND Version placeho

I'm actually interested to know what your thumbnail display script code looks like - what are all the symbols and colors for? I had to turn my script off because it was slowing the display down way too much - care to share? :)

Re: Batch Time adjustment

Thx again Tom - I guess I"m just not sure what the program is actually doing here because all the images I'm working on are in a single folder and all the Exif dates are correctly established. I have 600 images in a folder all with dates from a year (2004-01-01 through 2004-12-31). I'm not adding an...

Re: Batch Time adjustment

Agree - the ability to free type the date would be much appreciated though again, I wonder how often the average Joe user needs to redate images one at a time for hundreds of images (imagine they would be bulk batching this for a single incorrect date). I would still love to know how to get the rena...

Re: Batch Time adjustment

Thank you Tom - that was it and now it works... here is the rename script that does what I need in case it helps others down the road... thx again - now I can continue my work for the client! %exif:DateTimeOriginal{dateformat=yyyy-mm-dd}_%ImageNumber{Reset=DATE}.%FileExtension So - using the above ...

Re: Does PSU overwrite Lightroom's DNG develop settings

Hey Frank - thanks for your insight... I guess where I'm hung up in this process is the fact that I am writing the data out to the images in ALL cases (as is Tom). 1 - Idimager: tag, label, rate, etc -> Write XMP to file 2 - Lightroom: Make edits, crop, heck even add a color label -> Write XMP to fi...

Re: Does PSU overwrite Lightroom's DNG develop settings

I guess I too am still confused by this... I would think the whole process should be automated because of autosync? [I've always hoped for this...] So... this is the workflow I would use and hope it would work (not tested): 1 - import images into Idimager, rate, label, etc - catalog data is written ...

Re: Batch Time adjustment

Thank you Geoff/Hert... that is interesting but seems very confusing... it baffled me and I am pretty darn savvy when it comes to these programs! Was there a programming/design need to force a click on another image for the changes to apply? I guess I thought as soon as I made an edit to the detail ...

Re: Batch Time adjustment

Hmmm... this behavior is occurring with Auto-sync turned off... and if you just click the image again. So - edit the date/time original and then just click the thumbnail - it reverts back to the original value.. I must be missing something here.. are we unable to edit the date/time original from the...
