Re: Import very slow

Perhaps my problem is that the program is doing more than I need. All I want is for it to read the files and store file info and metadata (particularly keywords and ratings) in the database. I have experimented with deleting the thumbs database and found that I could happily allow the program to cre...

Re: Import very slow

Thanks, Frank, for your encouragement. I have tried compacting the database, turning off versioning, quitting all running programs, rebooting Windows. None of them seemed to make a significant improvement. I'm currently importing a batch of ~16,000 photos which should take the catalog from 60,000 to...

Re: Import very slow

Thanks for that, Jim. I'll have a look at the suggestion. I'll have a look at that when my current import batch is finished!

Re: Import very slow

Thanks. I have done. I'll compact regularly and see how I get on.

Re: to DxO and back

I haven't used it, but I noticed that in the File menu there is an option to Import Single Files. (Also, you can verify just one folder by right-clicking on the folder and choosing the option from the context menu.)

Import very slow

I'm currently importing a folder containing 14,000 photos, which should take the total in PS from 28,000 to 42,000. The import seems set to take between 4 and 5 hours (1 hour until thumbnail import was finished then another 3 or 4 hours to complete synchronization). Is it normal to take this long? M...

Re: How can I cycle between a selection of photos in full screen mode?

Thanks for all the comments. I hadn't noticed the Basket icon lurking at the bottom left of the screen! I've found that using the basket for my purpose is slightly less cumbersome than I thought because, although when I click Empty then Back I'm taken to the top of the thumbnail selection, the progr...

Re: How can I cycle between a selection of photos in full screen mode?

Hert, the Light Table is useful to compare the photos side by side but if I open one full screen then use the arrow keys I see the adjacent photos in the thumbnail set (not the photos that I have selected for comparison). Jim, thanks. I hadn't met the Basket. It seems to do the job well, but it does...

Re: How to move photos to a folder outside PS3

Is there a keyboard shortcut for Share>Copy to folder? (The shortcuts Help file only mentions Ctrl-E which is not quite so convenient.)

Re: Using keyboard to adjust thumbnail selection

OK. I'll report on Mantis if I ever get registered. As I've mentioned on another thread I've had no response to an email I've tried to send to support.

I too have had no response to an email sent to support. The address I used was support@idimager.com. Is that wrong?

How can I cycle between a selection of photos in full screen mode?

If my thumbnails include several similar photos how can I cycle between them in full screen or larger preview mode? If I select the photos I want to compare then shift-enter I get a full-screen view of one of the photos, but if I then press an arrow key hoping to see the next in the selection the di...
