Are you seriously suggesting I rename most of my image file names? Hyphens and spaces are legal Windows name characters.jstartin wrote:... filenames containing characters that act as operators or delimiters in SQLite searches, such as hyphens ("NOT") and spaces ("OR)... .

FTS expression tree
What is an FTS expression tree and why is it too large FTS expression tree.JPG I was removing a bunch of images from the database when this popped up. I work with databases all day and whenever I set the status of a record to Delete, it becomes hidden and no longer contributes to any process, extrac...

Re: losing thumbnails?
Bug 0003141 has been reported.
I couldn't find a way to search existing bug reports so I hope I didn't duplicate an existing bug.

Re: losing thumbnails?
Tried the travel mode and indeed, the missing thumbs show. There appears to be a limit to how many missing thumbnails can be found and built in one pass. Even after three passes, it still finds around 5000 missing each time. Is this by design to lessen the burden on the system? Meanwhile I still hav...

Re: what date is updated?
Now that I look closer, I see that the JPG versions do have a new file date, it's the TIF files that didn't change. Is that normal?

what date is updated?
When I use the re-date function (shit-ctrl-D) I enter a new date in this panel redating.JPG After I save meta data to file, I look at the image file in Explorer but don't see the new date in there. This is a scanned image so the scan date is not important. I want to see the date the original picture...

losing thumbnails?
Whenever I click on Find missing Thumbnails, it finds some, sometimes quite a few. It then builds the thumbnails. Once it is all done, I go back and do some work. Then when I later (days, weeks) click on Find Missing Thumbnails again, it finds more. Am I losing thumbnails along the way during my wor...

Re: SQLITE_ERROR - Safety level ...
Made a backup of the database folder and compacted both the catalog and thumbnail databases. This time no errors. Now we're back in business, organizing the backlog and labeling. Wonder what happened to set this off.

split screen scrolling
Is it possible to show the thumbnails in a split screen mode? I have a bunch (13,000) images in a project. Some are similar based on visual content only. Names, dates and other metadata are different. For each potential candidate i would like toe scroll through the other images to find similar ones ...

Re: SQLITE_ERROR - Safety level ...
Seems to have healed itself or it got tired of giving me the willies. My confidence has taken a hit. Was it something I did / didn't do that set off these events?

Re: SQLITE_ERROR - Safety level ...
This is getting serious. After the above error, I closed for the night and this morning all the thumbnails are not showing. Can they be turned off? The cat db is over 3.3 GB and the thumbs db is over 78 GB for 236k images Surely not too big for the database. And now the PSu shows not responding. Is ...

SQLITE_ERROR - Safety level ...
After some heavy cataloging, performance was slowing so I thought it would be a good time to compact the database and thumbnails too. When I returned I saw an SQLITE_ERROR on the screen. Safety level may not be changed inside a transaction (0). Was that what I was doing? What does that mean, how do ...

Re: going out of sync
Doing some cleanup in 2013 images right now. As soon as PSu is finished, I try the above for the 2016 folder that was giving me all that grief.

Re: going out of sync
One more time. this time using Jim's recipe When you come to reimport the read settings need to be temporarily changed to: Keywords processing "Replace catalog labels with existing keywords" Tick "Read hierarchical keywords" Tick "Read IDimager ICS scheme" And the label hierarchy got imported but no...
