Re: Can't delete empty category

Oh dear, thanks.

Unfortunately when I tried to put it all back the database well and truly corrupted.

Fortunately I had a backup from yesterday though lost some work from today. Pretty scary all round.

Can't delete empty category

I have been rearranging my heirarchy to make it more efficient etc. It has all gone well other than in one respect. I have moved a lot of labels to new or different categories. Once the categories no longer have labels I have deleted the old redundant categories using the context menu item "Delete [...

Re: Ordering labels within categories

Hert thanks

The benefit would be that some items are more important than others. I guess I can adjust the heirarchy if necessary.

Ordering labels within categories

It's possible to move categories up and down using the Move Up and Move Down commands in the context menu, but the same does not seem to apply to label order within categories. They just self-sort in alphabetical order. Is there a way to custom sort a set of labels, i.e. not alphabetically but manua...

Re: PSUv3 is slow when the database is stored on a NAS

I've got my image files on a NAS and the database on the computer. The synchronise service is still slow though. I guess it is all that writing to the NAS. The trouble is that I have so many images they won't fit on a standard USB drive. And the NAS has double-redundancy, which helps me sleep at nig...

DXO to PSU nef thumbnail problem

When I open a NEF file in DXO Optics Pro from Photo Supreme, and then process in DXO and close it, the thumbnail in PSU changes from the original NEF thumbnail image to a weird cross-processed look (see attached comparison). If I do it again the weird PSU thumbnail gets darker. Running rebuild thumb...

Re: How to stop versioned photos sharing same keywords

sanphotgn, tstoddard, vlad, thanks very much for your confirmations and ideas.

I must say that I am greatly enjoying PSU. I believe it is the best photo cataloguing software available.

Re: How to stop versioned photos sharing same keywords

OK, further to all of the above I think I just solved all of my problems. The key is to select "Replace keywords with calalog labels" under Keywords processing in the Write tab of the Synchronise Settings tab of the Preferences box. Of course before doing that make sure that all of your keywords hav...

Re: How to stop versioned photos sharing same keywords

Further to my two replies above, I have carried out another experiment. I changed a label "Animals" to "animal" and that change was reflected in the Assign tab. I then right clicked on an image with that label and chose Metadata | Save metadata to file. The new label did not change the keyword Anima...

Re: How to stop versioned photos sharing same keywords

Further to my reply above, I have now tried this with another image which is not in a version set. The private label is not writing to the image (so clearly that is a good thing - the expected behaviour). So I'm guessing that on the original image described in my earlier posts in this topic the priv...

Re: How to stop versioned photos sharing same keywords

Mike thanks Here are my read and write screenshots. What I also did not mention is that the keyword that I am trying to delete from the image is set up as private (Catalog Only) - see the third screenshot in the upload. But it is still being copied from catalogue label to keyword embedded in the ima...

How to stop versioned photos sharing same keywords

Can anyone tell me whether this is possible and if so how to do it. As it is I find that if I delete a catalogue label (in Assign) from one versioned photo it disappears from all in the version set, and if I put a label on one versioned photo it appears in the full set. Can this auto copying/deletio...

Can't import IMatch

I am trying to import my IMatch 5 catalogue. PS is looking for a file extension imcs. But iMatch outputs a file with an imcsx extension. I tried importing the file anyway but after looking like it was importing (white progress bar and % loaded etc shown) at the end there was an error message: Action...
