Version set down arrow not appearing

For some reason the down arrow to scroll down through tabs for versions beyond version 6 is missing. I think it might be hiding behind the version 6 tag, as I can just see a bit of the down arrow, but can't click it. I'm attaching an example of a version set which has 9 versions, but only 6 tags are...

Re: Compacting throws exception

Thanks, that worked a treat. And PSU now (after compacting thumbs) loading and ready to go in about 6 seconds (as opposed to 30-60 seconds before compacting the catalogue database, and about 15-20 seconds after compacting that database but before compacting the thumbs db). My computer seems a little...

Re: Compacting throws exception

Thanks. I've tried compacting separately but same problem. Catalogue compacts ok, it's just the thumbs that throw the error. The error reports that the thumbs db is 7.9 gb, but that the available memory is only 2.2 gb. Both databases are on my D drive, which has 130 gb of free space. My C drive has ...

Compacting throws exception

I compacted for the first time ever the other day (catalogue and thumbs) and it worked well and massively speeded up PSU Since then whenever I compact (catalogue and thumbs) an exception is notified. Please could you let me know what I should do about this. Here is the exception info: IDI.v4.Applica...

Slow

I may be doing something wrong but I am finding PS increasingly slow. I think that this might be something to do with the fact that my images are stored on a NAS device. I say this because when I click on e.g. a folder and there is a delay, in the background the NAS starts burbling. But given that t...

Do not create a label v This label is private

Can anyone please help me with the difference in practice in the Metadata settings for a label between "Do not create a label" and "This label is private - Catalogue only"? In what situations might one use one or the other?

Re: Can't delete empty category

Oh dear, thanks.

Unfortunately when I tried to put it all back the database well and truly corrupted.

Fortunately I had a backup from yesterday though lost some work from today. Pretty scary all round.

Can't delete empty category

I have been rearranging my heirarchy to make it more efficient etc. It has all gone well other than in one respect. I have moved a lot of labels to new or different categories. Once the categories no longer have labels I have deleted the old redundant categories using the context menu item "Delete [...

Re: Ordering labels within categories

Hert thanks

The benefit would be that some items are more important than others. I guess I can adjust the heirarchy if necessary.

Ordering labels within categories

It's possible to move categories up and down using the Move Up and Move Down commands in the context menu, but the same does not seem to apply to label order within categories. They just self-sort in alphabetical order. Is there a way to custom sort a set of labels, i.e. not alphabetically but manua...

Re: PSUv3 is slow when the database is stored on a NAS

I've got my image files on a NAS and the database on the computer. The synchronise service is still slow though. I guess it is all that writing to the NAS. The trouble is that I have so many images they won't fit on a standard USB drive. And the NAS has double-redundancy, which helps me sleep at nig...
