Re: Apple's ProRAW images are flipped

I see what you mean now. If you take a picture when the lens is toward the bottom of the phone when held sideways, the image is flipped, but if the lens is at the top of the phone, it is fine. I always hold the phone with the lens up which is why I didn't see that. Another thing I noticed is that th...

Re: Imported from iphone has strange results

RAF aside, HEIC is a relatively new file format that the iPhone uses instead of JPEG. It results in a smaller size and better image quality than its JPEG alternative. This is good for saving space on the phone, but it does not have widespread acceptance yet. It is supported on the Mac (since High Si...

Re: Apple's ProRAW images are flipped

Interesting. My landscape oriented photos were fine even before Hert made the correction. I just took a few shots in raw in both orientations and they all display properly. I am running the latest version 3431.

Re: best use of bookmarks?

My main use for it is in culling photos. After import, I go through all the photos, and I set the bookmark for those I don't want to keep. When I am done, I set the state filter to show the bookmarked photos, then delete them. It is convenient to use the shortcut control-space bar (Mac). As I am goi...

Apple's ProRAW images are flipped

I just tried Apple's new ProRAW format on my iPhone 12 Pro. The files are in the DNG format. Importing into PSu, images taken in portrait orientation are flipped horizontally. Oddly, landscape oriented photos are fine.

Re: pixel dimension display not changing after scaling photo

I understand the recipe concept, and I've tried it, but I'm not too keen on it. I always save using the "disk" icon (I take other measures to be able to resurrect an original if I need to). PSu changes other exif data, specifically image width and height, and image size, but not the data that the in...

Re: pixel dimension display not changing after scaling photo

jpg format
Adjust pane > Scale
Change pixel width and height, no change to resolution, Apply and Save

I also tried Resize in Batch. Same result.

pixel dimension display not changing after scaling photo

I found that after scaling an image in PSu, the dimensions displayed in the info panel don't change, and remain the original dimensions. From looking through the metadata, it appears the display comes from exif:PixelXDimension (and Y) as I see these values match the display. I tried scaling in Graph...

Re: Wrong image count of sub collections

I too have this problem. All dynamic collections I have created show a count of 0. Unlike Alfons, a small test catalog I created still shows only 0 counts. To answer questions you asked Alfons above, I am running the latest build, 3044, I'm using the single edition, and I'm running Mac OS Mojave. My...

Re: confusing time discrepancy

Well that's interesting. I don't know what you did, but there it is. And it is quite a nice feature that I didn't know existed as it was never there for me, or at least I don't recall ever seeing it. Thank you.

Yes, I do. I even tried toggling it. Didn't make a difference.

Re: confusing time discrepancy

OK, thanks for your help. This is an inexpensive camera, so no surprise there is no exif data. Just to go back to the Run Script from Repository issue. I attached a screen shot of what I see when I right-click a thumb. It is not there, nor in any of the sub-menus. I am running the latest version. Am...

Re: confusing time discrepancy

I do not have an entry called Run Script from Repository when I right-click a thumb. Is that a Windows-only thing, or am I in the wrong place? Be that as it may, I went to the repository, got the script, and ran it from the Scripter. Like you, nothing was returned. But using exiftool, this is what I...

Re: confusing time discrepancy

I'm at my wits end. Earlier I took a picture of a clock to send you, but when I loaded it in PSu, the time shown in Description Date (and photoshop:DateCreated) was accurate. I was mystified as nothing had changed. I did some experimenting, and at one point I changed the name of the file in the Find...
