Re: Swapping image hard drive

Thanks, easy peasy, that was the $64k solution! I'm so pleased that I decided years ago to put all images on an external drive.

Re: misusing synonyms

Indeed, that is it. Thanks for finding that Mantis posting. Using the synonym field works but has limitations in my workspace. I use Capture One C1 for editing, which we know does not speak the same language as PSu when talking about labels. I don't know the insides of PSu, nor to I need to, but whe...

Swapping image hard drive

I am about to swap my image hard drive and cannot remember exactly how I did it last time. All images are kept on an external drive, which is cloned regularly. I now need to swap the drive. I remember the process was as simple as selecting it from within PSu. However, this time I would like to chang...

Re: misusing synonyms

Yes, I realised just after posting that my example was incorrect because "City of Lights" IS a synonym. I should have given another example. When I select banana I also get tropical fruit and fruit as they are in my hierarchy. I would like to add yellow as a 'synonym', as that is not in the hierarch...

misusing synonyms

I have been misusing synonyms for some time but wanted to know whether there is a better way, which some readers with more sophisticated keywording demand might use. I frequently add 'related labels' as synonyms. The term synonym not being accurate in my case, but I just want the other term to also ...

Re: develop changes not showing

Any develop adjustments I make to an image file, outside of Photo Supreme aren’t showing to the preview in Photo Supreme. I have imported the images to the PS catalog then made adjustments to the image in Lightroom and DxO however on reopening PS the adjustments don’t show 1. You might want to chec...

Re: label duplication in "Miscellaneous" category

Re Stephen: Maybe you could try to revoke assigned labels and save data to file before cascading them. Not sure as I don't cascade. It is possible to just delete all labels under Miscellaneous and that removes only the duplicates, not the original, correctly placed ones. Still it is a bit of a nuis...

Re: label duplication in "Miscellaneous" category

A long time ago there was a suggestion in Mantis about marking the labels filed under miscellaneous with a coloured band or stripe to more easily differentiate them. It apparently did not find much support at that time but I still think it would be a great improvement. I disagree strongly !!! A gre...

Re: label duplication in "Miscellaneous" category

I would not delete miscellaneous labels until they are filed correctly. Personally, I would prefer to be able to find 'dog' in miscellaneous rather than no find it at all because the label has been deleted. When it is later filed correctly under animals, even better. A long time ago there was a sugg...

Fonts V3 vs V4.png
Please look the screen shots from Hert above.

If you now reduce the window size in your browser or just the text size (Mac is "command -") so that it becomes very small, the first to become illegible is the text on the v4 screen shot. That's my point.

Re: Need help with keywords and Catalog labels

If you tried to import them all at once, then that was possibly the problem. Try in smaller batches, maybe 10,000 at a time... ? Probably your computer is having problems with the amount of data being processed by PSu. Think about filling a swimming pool of the first time. Later you will only be top...

Re: Need help with keywords and Catalog labels

You did not say how images you have, but cataloging with many keywords is very processor intensive, so perhaps that was the problem.

Re: this place can't load Google maps...?

Unconnected, Google have also changed their email protocols in a move that is causing great issues for my ISP, as Google is effectively delaying any emails sent to gmail addressses from my - and other - ISPs, sometimes by many days. I would suggest escaping from Gmail asap. Fastmail, which I highly...

Re: Tiny PSu system font size in v4

Apparently not only the inter-word spacing is different, but also the kerning, which greatly affects legibility. This sans-serif type face appears to be a proportional font. Maybe a monospaced font where the kerning is identical, would offer more legibility for the same point size? Or a bold type fa...
