Re: Face areas unlinked after re-import and merges

I treated myself to a new computer this weekend, and I have moved my pictures to the new computer and re-installed PSU. I did not move the PSU db, just reimported my pictures. Oddly, now all my area tags are automatically and correctly linked to my person-labels (who have been moved to a sub-hierarc...

Re: Face areas unlinked after re-import and merges

Upon further testing, it would seem that most problems with lost/unliked labels are resolved, if person-labels are kept as a subhierarchy within the in-built "People" category rather than my self-inflicted "Persons" category. Would be nice to know, though, whether that's a quirk in the program or th...

Re: Face areas unlinked after re-import and merges

There is definitely something very iffy going on here: I have furthermore noticed, that even moving pictures between folders produce unpredicted effects, the worst being loss of catalog labels linked to area tags. To make matters worse, it doesn't do that every time, apparently only when moving in c...

Re: Face areas unlinked after re-import and merges

Are you saying that PSU populated the predefined People category with labels, although you had previously used only a parallel label category? That's interesting. Yes, that's what I experienced. Questions: 1. Which global settings did you use for keyword reading? Did you enable the reading of IDima...

Re: Face areas unlinked after re-import and merges

Thanks for replying. Your scripts do not, unfortunately recognise my face area tags as "orphan" My pics now typically has an area tag e.g. called "CCC" and a label called "CCC", but the two "CCC"s are not linked. If I manually drag the label assignment over the orange area namesign, then the link is...

Face areas unlinked after re-import and merges

Hello, all I went through a systems rebuild and lost my catalogue-DB in the process. No biggie, as my metadata was snug and secure inside my picture files, right? Well, things went a bit downhill from there, mostly because of my own inconsistent naming schemas, I guess.... I don't normally use the i...

Re: Face Regions Metadata and LR6

custom post-process every image (rather than use batch processing) and I rarely need to revisit an image. The very few times that I do need to re-edit one, I'm happy to start over from scratch. Well, consider me a niggler - I frequently re-process my abysmal pictures in an effort to make them moder...

Re: Face Regions Metadata and LR6

- I'm still finding my way around how I can adapt my workflow to take account of this new feature. Any hints of a feasible workflow involving BOTH Lightroom AND Photo Supreme concurrently would be most appreciated. I really like the Developer Module of LR, but I'm a bit stumped over how to use it w...

Re: PhotoSupreme V3 won't restart

My oldish laptom occasionally shuts down abruptly, and I've noticed, it's usually if it's imminently overheating from some heavy CPU load. I would suspect, something along those lines happened for you as well. My metadata changes changes are always sync'ed back to the files immediately, so everythin...

Re: Face (and object?) labelling thoughts

Indirectly related to this, while the face detection box is currently linked only to 'people', it occurred to me that it would be useful to be able to tag other things too - in my case, that would be particular buildings in cityscapes, and towns or geographical features in aerial photographs. I see...

Re: Problem with special characters Æ Ø Å when used in mappi

I am on a Windows machine, but I'm Scandinavian, too, so I tried to reproduce your steps on my localised system with ÆØÅ's. When I reverse-lookup Rådhuspladsen, København, I don't get any ??'s at all neither in IPTC/Location Created nor in XMP Advanced/photoshop/photoshop:City. I think it's a locali...

Re: How to control JPG quality during export (share)

Files are saved with a 95 to 98 ratio. What makes you conclude that they are more compressed? File size? That's not a good reference. Have you tried to extract the JPG stream of the preview in your DNG to see the size? Also, do you know what compression Adobe uses to save the preview in the DNG? No...

Re: How to control JPG quality during export (share)

For DNG files, PSU always extracts the full size JPG preview. Yes, but the preview appears much more compressed than the original DNG-embedded JPEG, so I assume the full-size jpg uses an unconfigurable (?) fixed compression rate. I guess, what I'm asking is if there is a way of changing this compre...

Re: How to control JPG quality during export (share)

Belated thanks for your answer.

I'm respectfully bumping this subject, as I am still a bit unsure of what essentially goes on, and whether there is a non-configurable hard limit on jpeg quality, when exporting a JPEG from a DNG-file out of PSU.

Re: Warinng: Image not available or medium not loaded

This behaviour could occur, if you had moved or deleted some photos or folders outside of PSU.
