Re: DXO PhotoLab 3 DNG not how in PS
I have PhotoLab 2.3.2 and, although I never normally export to DNG, I've just exported a few and they show up fine in Photo Supreme. There is no setting to include a preview or exclude a preview in PhotoLab 2, so unless they've added one in version 3, perhaps they have introduced a bug? As a workaro...

Re: Error in script 'Find Duplicates in Photo Supreme'
Thank you, looks like a long and slow process of identify and elating by hand. Maybe not. You could use a tool like FileListCreator https://www.sttmedia.com/filelistcreator (Windows, macOS and Linux, donation-ware) to generate a CSV files of your folders and files, then create a formula in Excel / ...

Re: Support for CaptureOne sidecar files from v9, v10, v11, v12 and v20
I don't use Capture One, however the purpose of incorporating these features was as an aid to managing the files in PSU, not for display/print purposes. Capture One's technology is proprietary, so PSU is limited in its ability to interpret their adjustments. This difference between modes is: Element...

Re: Rethinking relationsips in XMP-ics data?
I agree with you Hert. And as XMP-ics is for emergency use only, it only needs to contain the data strictly necessary to reinstate that single image in a new catalogue. At the moment, for relationships, it goes way beyond that. One image contains the data required to rebuild the entire related famil...

Rethinking relationsips in XMP-ics data?
PSU has the very useful ability to add relationships between labels. However, as the number of relationships grow, I'm wondering if the way that these are currently written to XMP-ics could be changed to avoid excessive data redundancy. To outline the issue: Take a child label which is 'related to' ...

Re: Sorting order changes by itself
almost all of my files are scans of old photos, so I can only date them one by one in my work through the mountain. I have a similar mountain that I'm very slowly working through! My solution is to sort them in separate folders by year (and by month / event if known), and sometimes by approximate d...

Re: Sorting order changes by itself
I can't help directly as I use a file naming convention that incorporates the file date; among the advantages is that the operating system (and PSU) then sort them in date order by default. Maybe that's something that you could consider for new files? There are some threads on the topic, such as htt...

Re: How to ignore a folder
why do I have some folder that are ignored (rightfully so) Because you chose to add them to PSU's folder tree during 'Scan for Missing Folders', but they don't contain any images (or any other file types that PSU is configured to catalogue). why is there an rightclick option to "stop ignoring"? So ...

Re: relationships People more easily?
Yes, that's working well and saving time - thanks! In testing I had the idea that maybe, if I temporarily added the 'parent' for the relationships to a Label Set, I might be able to Alt-drag & drop the 'children' onto that (to save mousing up and down the category tree so much). Though it doesn't wo...

Re: How to ignore a folder
There is no permanent way to ignore a folder (unless you never use 'Scan for Missing Folders' at that level in the hierarchy). The solution is to build your file structure with two branches; one for images to be catalogued, the other for those not to be catalogued. And then set the top level folder ...

Re: relationships People more easily?
I'd certainly be interested in enhanced ways of doing this too. My only idea so far would be to copy and paste relationships between people, similar to how labels can be copied and pasted between images. On a related topic aimed at speeding up tagging, some time ago I proposed adding a means of copy...

Re: Geo Panel: only main version (JPG) is GeoTagged with GPS coordinates not the dependent (RAW)
Welcome Jessy. GPS When GPS coordinates are applied to a version set, then they are only applied to the single visible image, not to the set. This is by design, but I'm not sure why. There have been various requests to change it to be (optionally) applied to the full set, such as this one that I pro...

Re: Error in script 'Find Duplicates in Photo Supreme'
That's weird. Yesterday the inbuilt 'Duplicate Files' display was showing files as above - with some genuine duplicates in pairs but with identical filenames and paths, but most of them shown as single files. I spent last night going through them and deleted at least a couple of hundred JPEGs. Today...
