Re: How to ignore a folder

There is no permanent way to ignore a folder (unless you never use 'Scan for Missing Folders' at that level in the hierarchy). The solution is to build your file structure with two branches; one for images to be catalogued, the other for those not to be catalogued. And then set the top level folder ...

Re: relationships People more easily?

I'd certainly be interested in enhanced ways of doing this too. My only idea so far would be to copy and paste relationships between people, similar to how labels can be copied and pasted between images. On a related topic aimed at speeding up tagging, some time ago I proposed adding a means of copy...

Re: Geo Panel: only main version (JPG) is GeoTagged with GPS coordinates not the dependent (RAW)

Welcome Jessy. GPS When GPS coordinates are applied to a version set, then they are only applied to the single visible image, not to the set. This is by design, but I'm not sure why. There have been various requests to change it to be (optionally) applied to the full set, such as this one that I pro...

Re: Error in script 'Find Duplicates in Photo Supreme'

That's weird. Yesterday the inbuilt 'Duplicate Files' display was showing files as above - with some genuine duplicates in pairs but with identical filenames and paths, but most of them shown as single files. I spent last night going through them and deleted at least a couple of hundred JPEGs. Today...

Re: Error in script 'Find Duplicates in Photo Supreme'

Thanks Hert I suspected that it was for an older version from the date. It does now run and generate results, but also terminates with an access violation: . RuntimeError.png . It does indeed seem to find nearly 3 times as many duplicates, so probably won't help. My reason for wanting to try it was ...

Error in script 'Find Duplicates in Photo Supreme'

I've just tried to run the above script from the repository (https://repository.idimager.com/openres ... 179D80CACB),
but get the following error:
ScriptError.png
ScriptError.png (9.73 KiB) Viewed 4386 times
.
If anyone is able to suggest how to correct this it would be much appreciated...

Phtolab does not create a catalog and never had. It just reads whats in the folder.
DxO PhotoLab's database is, by default, at %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\DxO\DxO PhotoLab 2\Database
(presumably replace 2 by 3 for the latest version - I've not upgraded).

Re: RAW + JPG + XMP - RAW changed for adding keywords, rating, labels?

DxO is another matter. I find it a nuisance that PhotoLab now has a Catalog. I love DxO as an editor, but certainly don't use it for anything else. It's set to write to sidecars and I delete it's unnecessary database every few months. PSU, on the other hand, is set to write direct to the image file...

Re: Problem with GEOtagging - inconsistent outcomes

I suspect that your drone / HoudahGeo may be recording the geo location as EXIF metadata, while PSU reads it from XML metadata. Examining a problem file using EXIF Tool (which reads both metdata formats + IPTC too) would help you to determine that. ExifTool: https://sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool...

Can you try this with the new build, which is now available on the website (no in app webupdate yet)

Re: Remove from stack / destroy stack

@Mike, I notice in your screenshot that you have the view set as "stacked" is the view is set to "unstacked", is the performance then normal? No, as noted above (https://forum.idimager.com/viewtopic.php?p=123243#p123221), it made no significant difference. When set to 'stacked' my test set of image...

Re: Remove from stack / destroy stack

The only thing that can impact performance here is Preference setting: Catalog->Stacking->Default Stacks Display Tried this with preferences set to stacked and unstacked - but made no significant difference. When set to 'stacked' my test set of images took 59 seconds; when set to 'unstacked' it too...

Re: Remove from stack / destroy stack

I'm also experiencing slow unstacking, in a freshly compacted catalog and with antivirus turned off.
Just stacked 6 x CR2s in 2 seconds, but took 1'1" to unstack.
25 images takes almost exactly the same times.

Re: Seeking That Nearly Perfect Workflow

The part I don't feel is handled well is association of edited master images (perhaps restored, cropped, or simply color-corrected) with the original master. I need to better manage the "family tree" of images so that, from any viewing copy, for example, I can easily get back to the original master...
