Re: PS and Online Backup

I don't know if I understand your doubt, but I'm backing up my photo collection and will not use PSU until its first pass is done. Then I'll use it normally, and according to what you say it will backup newer versions with changed tags... Is that it? Correct, it (Crashplan) will backup the PSU cata...

Re: PS and Online Backup

Well, i know for a fact that Crashplan sees changes. It is smarter than many backup software, as it doesn't just look at the file's change bit, but compares at block level. So, much more precise and much less to backup in case of small changes. What i am not sure about, because i have never explicit...

Re: PS and Online Backup

I would like to know if: when you save on the file changes made to tags via PSU, do online backup services (in my case trying out Crash Plan) detect the saved tag changes as a new version of the file and will upload the newly tagged file? Thanks for any clarification. I'm using Crashplan. I don't k...

Re: Thumbnails

I can confirm this.

Rotate isn't shown and when cropping added, the rotation is shown, but the crop is shown wrong.

Mac 10.10, PSU 3.1.0.2067 (server), CO 8.2.2 (build 8.2.2.8 e2365af).

Have you logged an issue ticket in Mantis (http://mantis.idimager.com/login_page.php)?

See ... power of the (this) forum !!

Stick with it and in the end you will get it figured out. Well done, both of you. It may actually be of great help to many other users of ACR/Lightroom and PSU.

Re: raw editor and PSU

Dear HSC, OK - I have been using PSU and Capture One in sessions now, but even most drastic edits do NOT show up, even if I configure PSU to show edits as "approximate" and use CTRL+ALT+T to update the thumbs. Attached two screenshots of a DNG that I quite messed up and cropped in Capture One, but ...

Re: raw editor and PSU

Hi HSC, thanks much. That helps a lot. I do not intend to use CO for tagging, keywords etc. and already thought that using sessions was probably the way to go. Thanks also for confirming that CO works best with NEFs, not DNGs. I assume you still need to have CO write the edits into a NEF XMP sideca...

Re: raw editor and PSU

Hi everyone, for editing my photos I have so far mostly used photoshop. I have played with a trial of Lightroom but don't like having to use a database, which would only be duplicating what PSU can do. In Capture one it is possible to use sessions instead of having to build catalogs. There are also...

Re: Collections vs. Events

Thanks, Vlad, HCS - very helpful (so much to learn, with such a flexible - and evolving - system). I see that dragging an image to a label-related tab (e.g. John Doe) is exactly the same as dragging to the Catalog label (so it doesn’t work if the tab is associated with more than one label, and it d...

Good tip Vlad! I'd actually like the interface to always be like this (and the current way an option).

Re: Photo Ninja as external editor - settings

... The shortcoming is that once PSU finds that preview file, it is the only file that PSU will display (unless that has changed recently). This means that if you want to see your original image zoomed to 100% in PSU you can't. One of the things I like to do in PSU is to look at full size images wh...

Re: Collections vs. Events

... Yes, there is: select Catalog->All, then browse the bottom section and select the desired folder. You could then scroll up the Catalog Explorer to see other catalog items (in partcular, catalog labels) - just don't click on any item or you'll lose the current folder collection! (Of course, you ...

Re: PSU keeps locking up

PSU keeps locking up and I have to force quit the application, which I am sure is not good for a database. Am I approaching any limits? Version 3.1.0.2067 OS 10.7.6 Number of images 86,000 PSU catalog size 1.8GB Hard drive free space on 750GB internal drive where PSU is installed and catalog is loc...

Being you asked so nice, decided to buy a license. Another C1 user. The program is the slickest DAM since the demise of Aperture.
It actually was even before its demise, but you probably were too busy with Aperture to notice :D :D :D
