A case of sheer delight !

Hi Mike, Your previous post caused the penny to drop, and I finally realised that PSU's scripting is just Delphi code. So I dug out my dusty programming skills from a past life and came up with a renaming rule that will parse the multi-word Model name and drop in a short descriptor for those models ...

By Image Details

if I select to view the catalog 'By Image Details' all I get is the attached:

What do I need to do in order to see all the expected EXIF info ?

Thanks,
Steve

Re: Need some help with milliseconds !

Thanks Mike,

Even though PSU doesn't do quite everything that I would like, it certainly has renaming by the short-and-curlies !

Re: Need some help with milliseconds !

Never mind... with a bit more thought I think I got it:

SGH_%yyyy-%mm-%dd_%hh%nn%ss.%zzz{format=%1.0e;left=1}_%exif:Model{word=2}.%FileExtension

Thanks,
Steve

Need some help with milliseconds !

Nice vague subject to attract interest :D I've been playing around with renaming rules for a while with the aim of getting something that I can guarantee to be unique across my whole collection and (hopefully) remain unique if I add in third party files. For the last few years with my D50 I have use...

Re: assign new label with path

FWIW, we run windows media center for showing off our photos in the lounge room, and it doesn't understand LR keywords either. So I also have taken up bad practice by writing '/' delimited keywords.

Splash Screen at startup

It would be good if there was one !

PSU takes about the same time to open as IDI (around 5-6 seconds on my PC) which is no problem but the lack of a splash screen means that some users may think they didn't double-click correctly and then attempt to launch it a second time.

Repeatable GUI glitch

Build 1.7.0.106

In Catalog view:

- double click a thumbnail to view it.
- double-click again to view it full screen
- Press ESC twice to go back to thumbnail view

- Then click on another Catalog Label. The first mouse click is ignored.

Seems to happen every time.

Cheers,

Steve.

Re: PSU slow to read images from NAS

Thanks Hert.

Turns out I had enabled 'Show Shapened". Having turned that off, PSU is indeed faster than IDI.

Thanks,
Steve

PSU slow to read images from NAS

My JPGs are all stored on a NAS. Typical file size 5M, connected via gigE.

I have IDI and PSU on the same computer. Whereas IDI will open images off the NAS in approx 1 second, PSU takes 4-5 seconds. This is slow enough to be frustrating.

Cheers,
Steve.
