Re: PSu updates info

Yes, the new What's New page is great. Just one extra thing I'd find useful is the release of each version.

{edit] How about I make some sense here ? What I meant was "the release date of each version"! Sometimes it's handy to be able to track back and see when certain features appeared.

Re: What are Portfolios and Collections?

Something that would be very helpful to me is a list of the behavioural differences between collections and category labels. I know they are intended for different uses, but they have many similarities. The only difference I know about is that collections support manual sort order and categories don...

Re: Some issues with first release of 2.0

I dont think it's related to particular images. It seems quite random. This morning I installed it on a few more PCs and a couple of Macs. I get the error randomly on the Macs and the 32-bit PCs but I haven't seen it yet on the 64-bit PCs, while wandering through the same set of images. One thing I ...

Error browsing through a number of photos with SQLServer

Hi, I grabbed the SQL version today 2.0.0.1016 and set it up on a few PCs. Some things i've found so far: - On the 32-bit version, after browsing through a number of photos (say about 20-30) I start to get 'Access Violation (0)' every time I move to a new photo. It seems to happen only on the 32-bit...

SQL version - storage location for Thumbs and Previews

I think I recall seeing in IDI an option to choose whether to store thumbs/previews in the database or as local user files. I don't see this option in PSU and it probably doesn't matter in the single user version. However there are reasons why this could be useful in the SQL version: - Users may hav...

Re: Sql server version of Photo Supreme

Thanks Hert.

That's fine. I thought I remembered you saying something about the Mac SQL version being a bit fiddly to set up on the users machine. But I can't find that reference now so I'll just go with the public perception that, being a mac, it will 'just work'. :-)

Re: Sql server version of Photo Supreme

a brighter glimmer of hope that you might be able to produce a MacOs version of this. Obviously a Windows machine would be needed for the database, but it would be fantastic to have a professional multi-user, multi-platform DAM I can suggest to clients. It is possible for me to release a Mac versio...

Import images from another DAM

Our church has a large collection of images which is being managed by another DAM product. With PSU SQL version released I want to see if I can get them switched over to PSU. I can import the images into PSU but I'm having trouble getting PSU to pick up the right categories. I tried to attach a samp...

Re: Sql server version of Photo Supreme

That's great Steve. This issue only happened when ran on a computer that doesn't have the SQLServer Express database software installed. That's why I didn't notice it until after running on the complete clean machine. Interesting. It must have been looking for the exact instance name, because I did...

Since it doesn't require SQLNCLI I have perhaps a brighter glimmer of hope that you might be able to produce a MacOs version of this. Re: Sql server version of Photo Supreme

Hi Hert,

I can confirm that the latest build opens on both my Win7 64 bit machine and the 2008 R2 server.

Onwards and upwards.....

Re: Sql server version of Photo Supreme

Makes sense, but surprisingly that's not it for this little black duck. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

The 2008 server already has SQLNCLI on it because I installed the full SQL Server 2012 package on it.

I installed the SQLNCLI on my Win8 64 bit machine, and PSU still doesn't open.
