Re: RAW-convertors (Nikon Capture NX2 replacement)

Hi Peter,

FWIW, I went from CNX2 to Photo Ninja, and couldn't be happier with the results I am getting from my D7100 files. A solid step forward in IQ, IMO.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: PSUv3 is slow when the database is stored on a NAS

Just a thought. If you want to put the DB on the NAS then you might want to consider the PostgreSQL Server version of PSU. Depending on the NAS, you may find that you can install PostgreSQL on it (e.g. my QNAP supports the installation of all sorts of cool extras). That would give you multi-user, mu...

Re: PS3, PhotoNinja and license question

While I haven't yet tried it, I'd like to thank Hert for implementing this so promptly. I am a PSU + PN user so I greatly appreciate the improvements this will make to my workflow.

Re: Preannouncement: Photo Supreme V3

I've switched off auto-update because of the following scenario (I may be doing this wrong): User receives the auto-update prompt, installs the update, performs the database upgrade when prompted, and is happy. Next user comes along and can't even log into PSU because the software on his machine doe...

Re: Preannouncement: Photo Supreme V3

Yes it's possible to do with Group Policy IF you are running Windows Pro machines in an AD domain. But that wouldn't necessarily be the case at all sites. The sort of thing I have seen with other products is where the client checks in a network location e.g. the server for an updated installer and o...

Re: Preannouncement: Photo Supreme V3

I've never put this in Mantis, but currently the SQL version is awkward to administer because each workstation needs to be updated manually otherwise users on old versions get 'database updated' issues. Has any thought been given to this in Ver 3 ?

Re: Error browsing through a number of photos with SQLServer

Thanks Hert.

FYI all panels are closed. Yes I wonder too about network integrity. It's a wired network but I'll do some digging.

Cheers,
Steve.

Hi Hert,

Just tried with 2.2.1.1038 and I get the same problem.

Re: Some issues with first release of 2.0

I'd better take something back. After a bit more use I was able to get the same error on a 64-bit machine. In this case it was followed by "TSQLServerConnection : Error 0"

I'll investigate further - might be a network issue. But any thoughts would be welcome.

Re: Some issues with first release of 2.0

Hi, just re-visiting this old post. I am now running 2.1.0.1027 at this site, and the problem with Access Violation (0) is still happening. I'm even surer now that its only happening on the 32 bit machines (Vista SP2). I haven't seen this error on the Win 7 64-bit machines or on the 2008R2 RD server...

Re: Criticism

+1 Is there really much that "the previous product" could do that PSU doesn't? As of Version 2 I'd suggest "not much". Yet PSU has managed to keep an attractive, simple, mostly intuitive interface and very good performance. Even an old wishlist item of mine regarding 'cumulative redating' has just s...
