Re: Yet another PS and Lightroom question...

In the past, I've converted all images to DNG and updated previews in LR to accomplish this in idimager - but the result was far from perfect and frustrating. Hi Andy. This is what I'm still doing with Idimager. I mirror all the originals in case I ever have to go back to them (very rare that I do)...

Re: How do I detect duplicates?

As a former math major, I can state definitively that sets can be open, closed, both or neither. I'll leave finding examples as an exercise for the reader.

A little off topic, but Lanczos was a great mathematician and physicist:

Tom is correct--the pictures and albums in picasaweb and Google+ are the same. I also prefer to access the images using the .../?noredirect=1 url.

Hi Mike,

That was a good explanation, but I think in the last sentence you meant to say something like "...copying the physical image file without applying the recipe to the image results in..."

Just copy the photos to a temporary directory and import from there.

Re: Does a win licence is ok also for Mac?

Hi Paolo,

The files were binary compatible in windows & mac os during the beta period; I moved them back & forth with no issues. I've not used the release version of PSU, so I can't vouch for it still working. I'm sure Hert will answer you.

Re: Solid State hard drive performance with PSU

Hi Dan (nice to have you back, BTW), I've been using a macbook air with a 256 gb ssd for more than a year (running windows). It's very speedy and has performed flawlessly. IIRC, Hert works on a similar setup. I used to have one but it wasn't reliable and finally failed completely. I've been hesitant...

Re: custom order of thumbnails in a portfolio

This is also extremely important for me. I create portfolios for the purpose of displaying slide shows on the television and on a projector without any need for a computer. I don't care where the images can be placed in custom order (the standard Collection Viewer, the Image Basket, the Portfolio o...

Re: Feedback - customer point of view - marketing disaster

I'm going to have to agree. I can't even find a clear and concise statement of the advantages of PS over IDI. Improved ease of use? How? Scalability? Stability? I know it must exist somewhere. Early on, Hert took the absurd position that PSU and IDI were different products and wouldn't be compared....

Re: Photo Supreme wins my vote

Hi Tom, I just want to join Frank, Geoff and Hert to say I found your post very constructive and instructive. I used a number of IDI features not present in PSU, but maybe I'll rethink my workflow. PSU has a great performance advantage over IDI, so maybe that can partially compensate for having to d...

Re: Sql server version of Photo Supreme

Hert, anyways eventually you'll come to idea that you need a pro version of PSU. All of these complaints on the forum are caused by the lack of such perspective. PSU is NOT a completely different product to IDI, as you had said. PSU is a thousand times better product, which can serve as a foundatio...

Re: Keywords - Delimited vs Simple

George, IDimager Systems has always used an open architecture. If you or I want to migrate to another DAM product, we simply need to export our catalog database to a file and then import that file into the newly chosen software. This is one of the reasons I selected IDimager Version 4 (that's not a...
