Re: Migrating 47,000 images from IDI to PSu

Hi Hert Thanks - Yes it was great fun - nice to be there when Alonso won in Spain! Speed - Loading Full Size - Yes the initial pics load quite speedily but do you notice how it slows down after a few pics - can you not increase the size of the read ahead buffer ? And also keep the LAST three viewed ...

Re: Migrating 47,000 images from IDI to PSu

Hi Hert Did you view my video in response to this question in another post ? http://mikeandmorag.co.za/idImager/Load_Full_Size_Image_Speed/Load_Full_Size_Image_Speed.html That shows the speed difference quite clearly - you also need to take into account that its not the "1" image load time that’s cr...

Re: load full size always disabled

Hi Hert What timings are you experiencing/calling "performance hit"? I have tried to pull a movie together showing the difference in speed between the Built In Preview and the Load Full Size images. At the end I have also swopped across to ViewNX so that one can get a speed comparison from there. ht...

Re: load full size always disabled

Hi Mike Use a camera that saves smaller files Ha Ha - Once you have used a D800 then ...... I tried your idea (Using CNX2) to Batch the JPG's (Maximum Quality) into the same directory, same name. (File Size Drops from 43Mmb to 20mb) I imported them as versions into PSU Then Started to rate them in F...

Re: load full size always disabled

Hi Hert Ask yourself if you really always need the full 22mpx loaded... The few times that you do, you can enable the option Maybe I am doing something incorrect in my workflow and you can advise me BUT I find that in order to check the "sharpness" of my images I often need to view them at 100%. Wit...

Re: PSU not sychronizing catalog label change

Just done a really quick test and it doesn't seem to work for me either (geosetter -> PSU)

Re: PSU not sychronizing catalog label change

Hi Hert Not quite sure where to switch on Auto Sync ? There is an option to Automatically Write write Out Catalog Changes to the image file - I have disabled that because I'd rather not be continuously writing changes while I am working. I have only looked under Preferences - Sync settings. Is there...

Re: PSU not sychronizing catalog label change

Hi Hert When you say that PSU also notices the changes should I then see an Out Of Sync Notification on the thumbnail ? When I make changes to images in Geosetter, for example, PSU doesn't show that the image has gone Out of Sync and running a Tools - Sync all Out of Sync Images doesn't pick them up...

Re: GPS Panel

Hi mikki

Just two quick ideas:

1. Delete the xmp file in windows explorer and then right click save metadata to file. This will make sure that PS U creates a "perfect" xmp file. Then try with geosetter

2. Set geosetter options to ignore minor errors.

Just some thoughts

Re: Share-Fldr Transfer-RAW to JPG-with Metadata

Hi Hert Two Points when I think about it: 1. I think that even if sizing is disabled = Original = the user should still be able to decide which information, if any, (metadata/Image Details/rotation) should transferred to the new copy 2. Maybe it might be clearer to have definite stated options = 1. ...

Re: Share-Fldr Transfer-RAW to JPG-with Metadata

Thanks Hert - That will do it.

Although when sizing is disabled AND the file name extension is set to JPG then the file IS converted to JPG.

Is this as expected - or should I report it ?

Share-Fldr Transfer-RAW to JPG-with Metadata

Hi What is the best way to take a RAW (NEF) file and Transfer It to a folder as a JPG, with the Original Sizing and Highest Quality - and ensuring that the Metatdata (Catalog Labels, Image Details, etc) are placed into the JPG and the JPG has the correct Rotation. At Present these is my settings: Sh...
