Re: show album version by default

But actually, my question was intended as a different one: how to change the version placeholder assignments for many version sets at the same time? How to "Make the album version the main version" for the thousands of images for which it's currently not set up this way? Without going through all th...

Re: show album version by default

Frank, what you asked for would be useful. Effectively you want a tag for "preferred image" which can be attached specific image files, but is not synchronised across versions within a set. I think this means that within the existing capabilities you could use a star rating, or a particular colour, ...

An option to make some labels version-specific?

Trying this idea on for size... I have a number of times thought about asking for "version-specific" catalog labels (ie not synced within version sets) as well as the existing "version set" catalog labels (ie synced across all files in one version set). It really would be quite helpful sometimes. So...

Re: show album version by default

Is there a way to do this simultanesouly for a large number of images? I can see how to do this one at a time, but not how to do it for many images at once.

Re: consistent star ratings across a version set

I have to conclude that having to figure out a workaround for this limitation is seen as a simpler interface than having on option available somewhere in preferences to let the user control this behaviour as preferred. I do not agree with this view. I want the option to choose whether ratings are sy...

Re: consistent star ratings across a version set

One way would be: 1. Define a new label called (say) File Management | Star4 2. By searching or filtering for 4-star images, or any other means, find the set of images with 4 stars for which you want to synchronise. 3. Add the label Star4 to these images - which applies it to all the versions of cou...

Re: labels and versions

Yikes!! I hadn't realised the ratings are always independent for different versions. I didn't think of checking. (I must have set the option in IDI Pro a long time ago and forgotten about it.) If that's the case then I may as well give up on my quest to work out how to use versions effectively in PS...

Re: Main version

Hert, that's a fair question. On reflection I realise that there have been updates to the versioning controls since last time I looked at the manual. I will have a look again and then come back to these questions.

Re: Main version

(1) I don't use a folder structure that makes all of this work. But, assuming I did change folder structures in future (a nightmare job, actually, for the existing collection) ... Like Kees, I sometimes have a jpg as the original and another jpg as a derivative. Or sometimes a psd is the main. Most ...

Re: Versioning controlled by labels

Here I said, Suppose I have a whole set of images. I decide to create a black and white version of each of them for a project, using an automated process in Photoshop, and I want to associate each of the new B&W files with the original images as versions. How can I get all of these Black and White ...

Ctrl-Alt-T doesn't work while viewing Preview

If I invoke Photoshop from the preview, then when I have finished editing and return to the Preview, Ctrl-Alt-T does not update the preview.

Is it intended that Ctrl-Alt-T does not work when looking at the Preview?
