Re: Getting me on the right track

@michael; if you switch language then also delete the AI Labelscategory. It will be recreated as needed using the language then active.

Re: Getting me on the right track

Hi Connor, Would it be allowed to have three single user versions installed on three machines when using only one at a time? Yes it is. And as a direct question - what would you recommend? The golden rule is: if you need two people to use the software concurrently then for sure go for the Server Edi...

Re: Redating from date in filename

That file most likely has inconsistency between Exif/IPTC and the higher level XMP metadata. ExifTool shows Exif metadata, and PSU shows XMP metadata. Some tools out there do a bad job keeping metadata consistent at all metadata levels and only write Exif or only write XMP or even write partial XMP....

Re: Problem with red color label on import

fix the synchronization issue
I assume you mean the lockup after import. That was not a synchronization issue but an import profile issue which hung the process at the point where it triggered the synchronization after import.

Did you check the 4 possible reasons I outlined?

Re: Getting me on the right track

A warm welcome to the forum. 1. Which version to choose? My setup is two PCs and a remote PC at the attic. I will be using one of the two for around 80% of the time, when doing foto development or manipulation. The remote PC is always running and I would have loved to have PSu running on this one in...

Re: rename Favorites

Singular "favorites" have the name of that what it represents and it doesn't make sense to rename that. When you have a favorite that is a combination (like A and B) then you can rename it with a right click. Combined favorites can be recognized by the two-ring icon renameFav.png In this sample, you...

Re: PSU hung after importing photos

Hi Geoff, Thank you for providing the database. Not sure why only your database gives this error, but with it I could reproduce it. None of my test database lead to this error.
For the Single user there's now a 2497 update to fix this. The server Edition is still at 2493. Can you confirm this fixed?

Re: Problem with red color label on import

1. Either your import profile has a red color label configured for it, 2. or you have a red color label definition in the preferences that is empty 3. or you have a catalog label assigned that also has te red color label in the detail profile of the catalog label 4. or the red color label is already...

Re: PSU hung after importing photos

Did you also check for sufficient free disk space? To compact the database of your size, you'd need at least around 25GB of free disk space to successfully compact the catalog.

Re: PSU hung after importing photos

It's downloading...but apparently this is on a slow server and will take 4 hours to finish. Since this is on such a slow server, compressing the file would save a lot of time. Is that still possible?

Re: PSU hung after importing photos

Can you send me a copy of your catalog database (no need for the larger thumbs database)?
If possible, upload it to your cloud storage and send a link to support@idimager.com

Re: PSU hung after importing photos

The log is telling me that you selected Catalog -> Open from the hamburger menu, not Catalog->Compact Current Catalog. Is that correct?

And which compact option did you select to lead to the error?

Also, the latest version is now 2493, did you install that already?

Thank you

Re: Lockup at Sync and Transaction not set during compact

2487 doesn't have "sync cures" or any sync changes....2487 fixes the hang after an import that caused the application to freeze. It's a fix in the import module, not the syncing. BTW; Shortly after 2487, 2490 was released and in a few minutes 2493 will be release. BTW2; you also posted this in anoth...

Re: Redating

Here's a script that redates based on file name. The requirement is that the file name is constructed with dashes (looks like yours is also). Here's some samples that can be handled: 1. YY-MM something else.jpg 2. YY-MM-DD somethingelse.jpg 3. YY-MM-DD HH-MM-SS.jpg Use the script at your own risk (a...

Re: PSU hung after importing photos

Your log shows that you're trying to change to a different database in the application (which probably wants to compact). Try this; 1. Enable the login dialog in the preferences 2. Start PSU 3. Select your catalog in the login dialog and continue 4. In the application select Catalog -> Compact Datab...
