Re: Best practice - mixed macOS and Windows

You don't need a second database to have read-only access. A catalog that was created on Windows client can be opened on a macOS client and you'll still have all database features available. But because PSU won't be able to find Windows file references on a macOS client, the files will be marked as ...

Re: Migrate MS SQLServer to PostgreSQL

If your database performs poorly then make sure you configured database according to the installation instructions. The Photo Su...

The manuals are PDF documents. You’ll need a PDF reader to read them. Adobe Acrobat Reader for instance.

Re: Label details Parent Assign/Processing ?

By default, parents are automatically written to the metadata as Lr:hierarchicalSubject. Typically you don’t needs “assign parents”. But needs vary and stock photographers could very well use that to increase their find chances on stock sites. .

Sqlserver Express has a few major restrictions. For example; diskspace limits and also (maybe ever worse), it uses only one processor core. That makes it nice for small databases but anything serious should quickly push you towards the full SQLserver version. If you don’t have a sqlserver license th...

This is not a bug. You should ask the ExifTool developer why ExifTool raises that minor warning. IMO the warning is obsolete.

Re: panasonic makers notes corrupted?

PSU doesn't rewrite Maker Notes, ever (since they are vendor proprietary, undocumented and non-standardized). PSU writes all the maker notes as-is back to the file. Some data in the Maker Notes from Panasonic use reference addresses that can point outside of the maker notes block. And that's probabl...
