Re: General feedback on search function in PSu

A warm welcome to the forum. Doing and, or, and not searches can all be constructed. A great place to start is by reading through the search manual. Find it in the Help section of the hamburger menu. About bulk editing; select multiple thumbs and enter the details in the Details Panel (click Details...

Re: Catalog Migration

You've backed up the entire database from the old machine and restored it on the new machine. I guess that also changed the password of the Postgresql user to the password from the old machine. The steps I would do are: 1. Create backup of the photosupreme and photosupreme_thumbs databases using pgA...

Re: Catalog Migration

I believe you're a PSU-Server user? In that case, it's a matter of backing up the databases with the database tools (for Postgresql that is pgAdmin). Then on the new machine, restore the databases. Once restored, start PSU and after login make sure to relocate the top level root folder to the correc...

Check in your Google account that:
1. There is a billing method
2. There’s not a restriction in place that fails

Re: label duplication in "Miscellaneous" category

Didn’t we come to the conclusion that this occurs when you have delimited (opposed to hierarchical) keywords in the metadata?

When using Postgresql then you can best use pgAdmin for backup purposes.

Synonyms should be entered one per line. So:

Re: Out of Sync

You probably exited PSU at one point while it was still importing

Follow this;
1. Open Timeline
2. Check if there's a 1899 entry
3. Select the 1899 entry
4. Select all the thumbnails
5. Right click on a selected thumbnail
6. Select Metadata -> Read Metadata from file

Wait for it to finish

Re: Offline use of server edition

A warm welcome to the forum.
You can install the server version at home with its own database. Then use this script to exchange catalog label structures.

Re: DNG Preview Size

That’s not what I’m saying Mike.
You made some assumptions and expressed expectations about the DNG future, and I gave my opinion on that.

If you wanted to summarize what I’m saying then it’s; use JPG, TIF, or the native RAW format that your camera records.

Re: File corruption

Maybe check your drive for errors. And try to remember what tool you've used to write the pixel content (writing metadata doesn't rewrite pixel content)

Re: DNG Preview Size

DNG is supposed to be a open source standard that many people hope camera manufacturers will eventually adopt. I expect many developers of RAW convertors will hope the same DNG has been around for many years now. And the time to "hope camera manufacturers will adopt" is way behind us. DNG was not a...
