Re: how to ingest...

Well - that was it. I had 4 profiles and renamed them each in turn: 1st, no change; 2nd, no change; 3rd - it requested admin permission to do the rename. So clearly something different about the ownership. And once renamed, import is working OK again. So I'm not sure it was a corruption issue so muc...

Re: how to ingest...

It doesn't do anything. See original post. I know I didn't have a problem when I initially trialled psu; seems to have gone this way since. Could it be anything to do with profiles? I noticed when I click the down-arrow in the wizard (below the word "into") it shows a few profiles... but maybe this ...

Re: how to ingest...

Hi Tom

No, I don't see anything like that. All I get is this, from selecting file->quick import wizard:

how to ingest...

Hi. Migrated from idi v5 and still getting used to PSu. Having a problem importing images from memory card. If I select "quick import wizard" from the file menu, I get a very basic wizard that doesn't contain the options I want. If I click the import button, or select file menu "import to catalog" n...

Re: Is the Label Assignment Panel alone sufficient?

I can't really add much to what has been said but fwiw I also find the LAP very useful in V5 - especially the way it presents, and narrows down the choices as per the Belgium exam given above. I too stopped using the CE in assignment mode once the LAP became available, because of the risks (and one ...

Re: Favourites panel

like a lot of others with experience of IDI I'm wondering what it is I'm looking at a lot of the time ...starting to get to grips with it and I'm starting to enjoy it a bit more than I did initially. I haven't yet trialled PSU, as I'm waiting until I have an amount of free time when I can properly ...

Re: Difference between a Portfolio and Catalog Label

I confess I never found my "perfect" way! - Sometimes I do it like Hert says; one-click so that's nice - sometimes I move all the decent-rated images (say 3* plus) and then go into the portfolio and delete the ones I didn't want (such as near-duplicates); this is ok as you've quickly removed the non...

Re: Difference between a Portfolio and Catalog Label

In idi I use (used to use :-( ) portfolios in a similar way to MikeP. I used them, quite literally, as a portfolio - to hold the photos that I want to show to others/look back on as a photo album/publish to the web/make a photobook out of. So only the best pictures go in the portfolio, and with only...
