Re: Problems importing images

Is anyone still getting this import issue? I thought it had gone away but importing around 300 images a few nights ago it happened again.

With import and Flickr uploads both having big issues, these are two of the key things in my workflow I use PSU for :(

Re: Flickr uploads failing

Thanks Dirk. No idea why I couldn't see that on a straight search, must have had the filters set wrong or something. [Edit - yeah - it was the project field up at the top right. I always fall for that one] I have added my findings to that issue. Keesdh, you might want to have a look and maybe add an...

Flickr uploads failing

Is it just me that has been having PSU to flickr uploads failing recently? It displays a variety of symptoms. A hang is common. An error message is usually emitted at some point, saying something like it couldn't find the picture (sorry I didn't copy the full text). Sometimes the pictures get to fli...

Re: A question on renaming file on import

I have only skimmed this thread so I may have got the wrong idea, but I think what I do is similar to what Larry is requesting. My folder rename is "%yyyy\%yyyy-%mm\%yyyy-%mm-%dd %EventName\" and my file rename is "%yyyy%mm%dd_%hh%nn%ss_%xmp:tiff:Model_%FileName.%FileExtension". I basically use the ...

Editing images

When editing an image using the adjustment panel, once the edits have been made pressing "save recipe" takes you back to the thumbnail view. This is inconvenient. I would prefer that this view - i.e. preview with adjustment panel visible - stay open so I can move to the next image and edit that, or ...

Re: Problems iporting images

In my case it's the SD card slot in the front of my (fairly new) laptop. I'm guessing it hangs of the internal Intel USB 3 Hub.

Re: Problems iporting images

Yes, my imports were stopping at 99% or thereabouts and it was just frozen then; I had to cancel the import. Strangely though this only appeared to happen from the SD card - when I copied the images manually to my hard drive (windows 7) and then ran PSU import against that folder on HDD it worked OK.

Re: How do you display your pictures?

Flickr. I create a Flickr "album" for each event as required - whether that event be a holiday, someone's birthday party, etc. Making use of the ability to restrict certain photos to myself only, family only, friends, or public, I can relatively easily adjust who sees what. (NB you can email anyone ...

Re: Assign GPX points by batch

As far as I recall (haven't used it for a while for various reasons) the GPX dialogues do have some strange behavior when dealing with multiple images, though I can't say I've experienced this one. Suggest you raise this on Mantis for investigation and fix.

Re: poll / advice on thumbnail size

Thanks both Harald, that's a excellent solution :-) Mine are all on a NAS drive accessed wirelessly. As well as when travelling my thoughts were for a big enough preview not to be always pulling big picture files over the wifi, though I may have simply transferred the problem by making the previews ...

poll / advice on thumbnail size

My thumbnail file is pretty big - 15GB. Now I know there are some other threads on this subject but I am wondering what all you PSUers out there have your thumbnail settings set to - size and quality. Mine are currently 1280 / 95%. My aim is to have a preview picture that is big enough to use for ap...

Re: Problems sending photo via email

I have also noticed that sending files by email no longer automatically takes focus, this is not from PSU but generally; so I suspect some recent Windows updates. A windows update about a month ago actually prevented one of my most-used programs emailing at all, which was very frustrating and caused...

Re: syncing issues

As someone still running a 1997 version of Lotus Organizer(!) Good choice, I kept running Organiser for years after IBM killed it off. Outlook's functionality then got better and better for contact and calendar management; but if you use it, as I did, for notes and/or tasks then can I ever-so-stron...

Re: How do retrieve altitude for multiple selected thumbs?

Additionally to this use case, my understanding is that whilst GPS is quite accurate (given enough satelites in view) for lat/long, it is NOT very accurate in calculating altitude*. Therefore if you are concerned about the altitude it is desirable to replace the GPS-calculated altitude with one look...
