Flickr authentication issue
Is anyone else having problems sharing to Flickr? Every time I try I am getting an authentication error. Tried re-authenticating, removing existing permissions, etc etc - nothing so far has worked. I got this error when testing a PSU bugfix (of a Fickr issue whereby Fickr was no longer respecting fi...

Re: Changing time zone in headline
Cool, thanks for that info. if you do remember to do it, you will probably also have remembered to change the camera time. The beauty of using your suggestion in combination with mine is that it doesn't really matter when you photograph the clock, as long as it's within the trip, it will capture bot...

Re: Changing time zone in headline
PS: When you say "I found it better to use 'shift the date' feature ... rather than using the change time zone feature" could you expand on why you found this better please? The reason I ask is that to adjust for camera clock drift up to now I have simply applied an offset in the geotagging dialogue...

Re: Changing time zone in headline
It's not an approach that will suit everyone but personally I leave all my camera bodies on GMT, all of the time. I don't change for daylight saving time and I don't change for time zone. Before I started doing this I was forever changing timezone halfway through a holiday (for example) and it cause...

Re: Images previously imported still marked for import
Hert, thanks for clarifying the mechanism. Turns out the protect tab on the card had been knocked into the locked position - I should have checked that before posting, but I was misled a bit by a similar issue I'd had a while back with different cards. All works fine now and I was able to reset the ...

Images previously imported still marked for import
At one time, when opening an import session to ingest images from a memory card, any images not already imported would be marked for import. To put this another way, if some of the images on a card had already been imported in a previous import session, those images would NOT be marked. This was goo...

Re: Fast Picture Viewer Pro for fast cull before import into PSu?
Stephen,
There is an option to verify copies with the originals on the card ("verify ingested image with original" checkbox), I assume this applies to the "main" copies but I do not know if it also applies to the "mirror" copies.

Re: change browser for google maps in geotagging panel??
Hert, - thank you for clarifying the situation as regards the maps. - re the the flickr sync, yes that appears to be the case. What happened was - roughly - that I had synced a collection; upgraded psu; when I next tried to upload something (I am not sure if that was a sync or an upload) I had to re...

Re: change browser for google maps in geotagging panel??
Also 2603 seems to have broken portfolio collection Flickr sync. Since updating - it forced me to re-authenticate - sync does nothing at all, like it thinks there is nothing to sync. And if I select images and upload that way, the duplicate upload bug is STILL there. This was reported on Mantis 9 mo...

Re: change browser for google maps in geotagging panel??
I have just updated PSU to 2603, and this error has started appearing for me now. On the plus side, if I click on dismiss everything still seems to work ok. Because of the timing I am thinking something has changed in 2603 but this might be just co-incidence - Eric, is that your experience too?

Re: Import without subfolder creating
From the main PSU screen click import. If you are not using the import wizard then the import screen will be displayed. If you have enabled "copy images to a new location" - a short way down the left hand side panel - then immediately below that toggle is displayed the target volume; immediately bel...

Re: Import without subfolder creating
You can choose whatever subfolder and file naming rules you like in the import screen, they are very flexible and very powerful. Perhaps you are using the import wizard, I don't recall if that gives access to the rules or not, if not then turn the wizard off and use the full dialogue (I never use th...

Re: change browser for google maps in geotagging panel??
I use W7, no issues with maps. Whilst this isn't the forum to discuss this, in the interests of avoiding scaremongering I don't think it is right to say "W7 is a dangerous system to use by now". While mainstream support ended in 2015, extended support is until 2020. It is still the cornerstone of ma...
