Re: google maps probplem...
Hmm. Mine hadn't been working for some time, despite adding the keys. Today, I was getting an error message, IIRC both on the getag panel and on shift-G (display on map). As I was getting a bit fed up I looked at the whole issue again, and checked out the idimager youtube vid on the subject. But eve...

Re: download/import skips images
Can an import profile get corrupted? I doubt it's relevant but it seems completely random whether my import profile comes up with a destination folder of F: or F:/dcim/ It should be F: (my laptop's memory card drive) - the reason being that my Panasonuc cameras place videos in a folder that is not ...

Re: Finding places names that have no Geo Location data
Can you explain a bit more what you mean Roman? For example if you have place names set up as labels in the catalog (this would normally be under the "Places" top level label, and probably using a heirarchy) and assign images to one of these labels, then these can be searched as normal; and search c...

Re: HTML web galleries?
I'm pretty sure you will be able to find bits of freeware that can take a folder of images and create a page for you, though finding one that does it just the way you like may be harder.

Re: View setting icon disable when Import to atalog / More settings
Related: just a bump that a long time ago I entered a Mantis feature request to be able to filter on the import screen so as to show only images not already imported. I use big cards and often keep images on the cards after downloading as an extra security, but that makes it hard to view the new ima...

Re: this place can't load Google maps...?
Yes, their satelite imagery is good, I admit, as are their maps, for road use anyway. But their ethics are only marginally ahead of FB's IMO, and whilst I have a free account for various reasons (youtube, android devices and as a means of keeping a common address book and calendar synched across mul...

Re: this place can't load Google maps...?
Apologies if this is a dumb question, but could it change to use one of the flavours of openstreetmap instead of Google (we all hate Google anyway!)? If that were possible then it would save a lot of hassle?

Re: Import postprocessing script location
LOL, I got a bit soft round the edges but fortunately didn't fully transform into a carrot, two lumps of coal and a puddle! :-D Yes, good point about the file name. PSU does display the full filename of a thumbnail if the cursor is hovered over the filename, which is very useful. Windows has a total...

Re: Import postprocessing script location
I use pretty much the same system as Stephen. I actually follow the date/time by the camera model, then the original file name e.g. 20180721_155135_DMC-G3_P1190350.JPG Not only does the original filename (or in Stephen's case the last 4 digits) supply a sequence for pictures taken in the same second...

Re: Is moving the order of catalogue labels in the catalogue tree on left of screen possible?
Just to explain Jim's last line a bit more, he is referring to the fact that the order of collections within portfolios *can* be altered. I personally use the hierarchy solution that Jim describes: mine is: - me - my family (under this can be another heirarchy or flat depending what suits your need)...

Re: Is this the same thing?
When you look at the left hand explorer panel, with it set to "categories", you are looking at PSU labels. You will see they are hierarchical - just like when you look Windows file explorer and see your heirarchical Windows folder structure. PSU labels are part of the metadata PSU stores in it's cat...

Re: Do I misunderstand the "Share" command?
I still think this way of doing it is rather misleading to anyone that has not used this functionality before, and a simple checkbox at the top of the settings to "copy original file" or "apply sizing and other adjustments" would make it more obvious. As discussed in https://forum.idimager.com/viewt...

Re: geo tag panel map scaling
Aha - I had to make the map area on the screen larger (specifically, make it deeper) then the plus/minus buttons appeared, along with the map/satellite buttons!
