Re: script/recipe to generate copy as new version?

Have you tried the Share feature? Enable Sizing (at first) to enable some of the other options. Specifically, under Catalog Settings, enable "add result as a version of the original". Another problem: I would not even mind doing this one file at a time. But: Setting up a transfer, I cannot easily s...

Re: script/recipe to generate copy as new version?

If you are selecting a bunch of photos from several folders, this won't work; but if you are selecting photos from the same folder, it appears to work. Unfortunately, that is usually what I do :? Here my workflow: (1) in PSu: assemble image originals for specific purpose into Portfolio. (2) in PSu:...

Re: script/recipe to generate copy as new version?

Not sure if that helps. I usually follow a naming convention appending file names for the versions with suffices like "_print" if its the print version, etc. So, copy - paste would actually even introduce a necessary additional step of then having to rename the files. But thanks for the suggestion. ...

script/recipe to generate copy as new version?

HI all, I wonder: frequently use an external editor to create a copy of an edited image and then need to use verify folder to import it and version detect to assign it as a subversion of the original. That's a quite a process of invoking various steps. Now, I wonder: would it be possible to create a...

Re: label duplication in "Miscellaneous" category

Please report in Mantis if you have a consistent way of reproducing this issue.
OK; I will watch it a bit more closely and if I can reproduce it consistently will file a Mantis Ticket.
Thanks!

Re: Image Rights management tool

Hi Stephen, yes, I used this already in version 3 (and actually before that in IDI). I use a separate category not because I am using the DarwinCore, but because I used to have these labels under Peoplr, but in PSu (unlike IDI) People are now automatically written into "person in image" and obviousl...

Re: label duplication in "Miscellaneous" category

You probably had these duplicates then from before build 1806. This definitely happened most recently on some of the files for which I made a print version, not in build 1806. UNLESS: Did the 186 bug write the miscellaneous labels into the XMP files without showing that these labels were written? A...

Re: no longer possible to auto-cascade ratings & color labels?

I just notice that this might be a refresh issue. With the option enabled in previous versions application of ratings and color labels happened to all images in a version set almost instantaneously. Now I apparently need to refresh the folder.

PSU icons no longer stacking on taskbar?

Since I had to disable "-regfile" as PSu startup parameter and now use "-regdb", a separate icon now gets displayed on the Windows 10 task-bar all the way to the right. It use to be that opening a PSu database the icons would get stacked at the site where the original icon with which the program get...

no longer possible to auto-cascade ratings & color labels?

Using a custom registry I recently ran into problems and with the new "-regdb" recently introduced by Hert to replace "-regfile" I am back to using a custom registry again. Michael Weidner has a collection of great PSu registry tweaks (http://www.michaelweidner.com/WP/psu/), some from which my workf...

Re: Image Rights management tool

I use it and it works well. I created a separate label category "copyright" with two main subcategories "Image License" and "Photographer". Under "Photographer" I have a list of names, these names are labels mapped to the XMP field "dc:creator": PSU-License.jpg The "Image License" labels are labels ...

Re: label duplication in "Miscellaneous" category

Re Stephen: Maybe you could try to revoke assigned labels and save data to file before cascading them. Not sure as I don't cascade. It is possible to just delete all labels under Miscellaneous and that removes only the duplicates, not the original, correctly placed ones. Still it is a bit of a nuisa...

Re: label duplication in "Miscellaneous" category

Hi Hert, I disabled that option for quite some time now, but unfortunately it today happened again that labels got duplicated under "Miscellaneous". This is what I did: I opened a file from within PSU using an external program like Photoshop, edited it and saved that file as my print version (naming...

making a "sub-catalog"... how?

Hi all, as I discussed elsewhere (https://forum.idimager.com/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=27427) I want to use a second catalog on my laptop for managing my personal images, but keep managing those also in my main catalog on the desktop. So, I have been thinking about saving my main catalog under a differen...
