move label structure without images to a new catalog?
I am in the process of setting up a new catalog for our collections and would like to import the labels (including all their mapping configuration) from my personal catalog. Ideally I do not want to copy all label categories, but only the ones relevant for the new catalog (but that is less important...

how important is compacting thumbs?
With the nag screen reminding me regularly now that I should compact my database, I have been doing this more regularly for the catalog database. However, the thumbnail database is too large to be compacted on the SDD where both databases reside. So, to be able to compact that database as regularly ...

Re: Google AI - spectacularly bad!
Probably depends of what you are taking pictures off. I mostly do macro-photography of lichens on rock. I have played around with it and I get things like "rock" for a lichen growing on soil and "plant" for a lichen (which isn't a plant). I guess I never really expected this to work for my kind of a...

Re: Can't set up an external application
Hi Tom, I use DxO PhotoLab 4 as well and don't have any problem adding it as an external editor in PSU. Go to Preference - External Applications and add the full path to the PhotoLab exe file, something like this: C:\Program Files\DxO\DxO PhotoLab 4\DxO.PhotoLab.exe PSu_PhotoLab4.jpg Does that work?...

Re: Version detection
Are you sure this is really the exact same label written to the files twice? That would be bad. I suspect what instead might be going on is labels being duplicated under the "Miscellaneous" category... I have had this for years and we even had some discussions about this online. For some reason PSu ...

Re: renaming question...
Hi Hert,
this is great. Thanks for implementing it. I have not yet had the time to try it out, but it seems this is exactly what I need.
Thanks again,
Frank

Re: renaming question...
OK, I will try that out on a sample...Personally I would use a rename rule to replace FB_ with your macro. Then in a second step replace the numbers with a new number.

OK thanks Geoff.
No idea how I selected this folder to be "ignored". Must have happened by accident

renaming question...
I have rather naively tried to use rename a bunch of files using a macro, and the result was a complete mess that forced me to restore the files from backup. Here is what I do want to achieve: I three versions of the same file, triplets of JPEG, NEF & DNG, all part of one and the same version set, o...

Are there any plans to someday natively support this within PSu. I am a bit reluctant to pay $49/year and having to use a program that PSu eventually may do better...

reverse altitude lookup not authorized?
Hi Hert,
I used to be able to reverse look-up the altitude of coordinates suing the Google API.
Now I am getting an error telling me I am no longer allowed to do this.
Did I miss any configuration necessary that I need to change in Google?
Thanks,
Frank
