Re: Why are the higher-level fields not written?
Hi Bongo, hhmmm... I am not quite sure what is going on. It looks like I am using things quite differently. My mapping schema is typically 1:1, you are trying to write one label simultaneously into several XMP fields - correct? In your example it seems your label is configured to write Test Item wit...

Re: Why are the higher-level fields not written?
Maybe you have to re-apply the labels?

Re: Why are the higher-level fields not written?
Hi Bongo, the screenshots do not show how you have mapped your labels. Here is how my labels are mapped: Mapping_to-DWC.jpg By enabling "process parent mapping" the next label further up in the hierarchy gets also processed (but not ALL of the parents, only the next one up). If you want to make sure...

Re: Added new preference setting to always store XMP in sidecar
Besides deviating from an industry-wide standard, I foresee another potential "hazard": I am wondering how enabling this would interfere with my current settings: I am using triplets of files in one and the same version set: jpg+nef+dng For simplicity all three files are have the same file names, di...

Re: A viable approach to photo sharing with decent search capabilities?
Wouldn't Photo Supreme Online eventually address this?
I know it is still in Beta, but perhaps something that roboask1 might want to explore?

Re: Places not updated when assigning label with geo information
I think this might be by design. Some people have their own geographic label hierarchy that they don't want to be replaced by Google ...

Something seems seriously messed up. Adding images to the basket here is virtually instantaneous.

What's new list not updated?
After an update check the newest version that I just installed is 5.6.0.3431, but the What's New says it is 5.6.0.3423 - that's 8 new additions without any changes?

Re: Selective Metadata Update From File
Hey, LifeIsLong,
would you be willing to share this VBA script?
I am very much interested. It would be fantastic to have a script that uses ExifTool to bulk update some image metadata.
Thanks,
Frank

Re: Metadata with Darwin Core and Darwin Core Xpress
Hi Bongo, great to see someone is interested in using PhotoSupreme for managing DarwinCore metadata. Mike already sent the links that you might find useful. If you have any other questions, you can also contact me directly. You can find me through Arizona State University's people search. Just make ...

Re: Compacting Catalog not where the catalog is.
Does that script also work on Windows? Presumably it does? I would love to be able to compact on a different drive than on my SSD. BTW: the quantity of images in your database and the size of the thumbnails is NOT the ONLY issue that results in a huge database. I have "just" 139,458 images in my dat...

Almost the same here; database and program on the same internal SSD, images on internal HDD.

Re: anyone having problems with Verify Folders for Files?
BTW - a workaround is stopping the sync queue via x, re-start and then start syncing again, until it stalls, stopping the queue, restart again... OR: sync in small batches only, ca. 20 at a time, until that no longer works, then stop it, restart, etc. It basically means syncing of large batches of i...
