Re: How to avoid versioning? HELP

Thank you Hert. Unfortunatelly When that happened the option to cascade the metadata was not used. I could do with stacking, but I liked the idea of versionning being different from stacking. I think your software is maybe not the most stable but definitively the best I have tested in terms of usabi...

Re: How to avoid versioning? HELP

Hi Hert, Are sure that versionning only affects catalog Labels. Is it new. In my experience it was synchronising most xmp metadata: this how I ended up with all my stacked dng version of a photo being exactly similar. The develop metadata of lightroom were synchronised to be the same across all the ...

Version satcking Removes all non destructive edits by LR,... and is not visible because the previews are not updated

Continuing with the database being corrupted by editing versions placeholder, I relized that the search on the name a of specific version was returning all the versions because PSU as copied the metadata of my Monochrome photos to all of my versions. I Never pressed the option to propagate the metad...

Re: Database corruption

So I removed one of the version pile from the database, which ended up in removing all color versions of the photo but only 1 photo in Monochrome version. So I reimported the color version and while there is no more version pile, if I look for *dev.dng (the way I call monochrome versions of my photo...

I updated to version 3008 and now the images that were gone and reimported are present twice in the database.

Database corruption

Hello Using version3001 I was versionning some images (color and Monochrome versions) I decided to swap my main version (Black and White) with the color version: I got quite a few errors: Every time I assigned a different version placehoder for the main photo I got an error message something like "n...

refresh issue

Is anyone having the same refresh issue as me? If I had a new label,... or assign a photo to a version type, there is almost systematically some refresh issue example: you can see here that the photo version 1 has no version type assign to it (i.e: emplacements) 2020-07-01 20_59_38-Photo Supreme _ B...

Re: Integrity of JPG and DNG files: Any suggestions for managing bitrot?

Ho, I forgot to ask but from what I saw in the PSU block of metadata I suppose this is the case:
Is the signature saved with the file?

Re: Problem batch assigning metadata

Hi Hert
thats my issue All of my data are both in iptc and xmp. I do not know what happened here. I first thought it was a refresh issue but no.
By the way I have many refresh issue. Like if I add a label it does not refresh its counter until I collapse all labels and redevelop them...

Re: how to compare out of sync file

Yes that's true But sometimes if you launch batch edit on many files that can take quite a long time to achieve. I noticed that if you quit PSU during the process, then opening back PSU does not relaunch the process, and you may end up with out of sync files because the edits in PSU have not yet bee...

Re: Integrity of JPG and DNG files: Any suggestions for managing bitrot?

Hi Hert, Thank you for the tip. Which kind of integrity check does this signature procure? I mean does it compute a signature for the full file including metadata or only the image data? If it checks the full file integrity it is just a partial solution for me, but if it checks the image only integr...

Problem batch assigning metadata

I have Imported all my photos from lightroom and encouter the following issues: for some reason a lot of photos from place "A" get the proper label - BUT- many photos whose iptc fields are correctly set to place "A" do not get the label => how can we force PSU to read the iptc/xmp field and reassign...

how to compare out of sync file

Hi When a file is out of sync is there a way to compare side by side the metadata from the file with the metadata from the database, so that we can decide which way to synchronise. If not possible from PSU I think this would make an interesting feature. Especially because nowadays we develop the pho...
