Re: Apply colours to 'types'

Not exactly what you’re asking but you can enable custom thumb lines and add a line that shows the type. Find custom thumb lines in the View button, upper right. Sorry to be a dunce but I've looked through every item in the 'Custom Thumb Info' and I can't see 'Custom Thumb Line'. Can you tell me ex...

Apply colours to 'types'

Hi - is it possible to apply colours to the borders of 'types' thumbnails so that I can tell at a glance whether the image is a jpg, tiff, raw, dng etc.? I tried a search but nothing found.
Thanks

In the past I've just renamed the .db files and it will appear as the name of the file when its viewed in the list to select.
Thanks Geoff - I'll give it a go.

Should I split a collection or not?

Hi - I don't have a massive collection of photos compared to some people - a total of about 12000 images. At the moment all of my photos reside on an external drive (backed up to another external drive) and the catalogue is on my Macbook Pro, backed up to the two separate external drives. I had an i...

Re: Spinning beach ball

Update - after re-starting the app I was able to compact both the database and the thumbnails successfully. However when I tried to 'check folder for files' it crashed again. I was able to get a screenshot of the filenames so I will try to add them individually as you suggest.

Re: Spinning beach ball

Unfortunately after waiting 5 hours for the compacting to finish, the application has indeed crashed and I am faced with the spinning ball again.

Re: Spinning beach ball

Hi again - 3 hours later and the situation is unchanged. I don't think the app has crashed, but is this normal? Should I just wait? Thanks

Re: Spinning beach ball

Thanks Hert - I thought I would start by compacting the database. No spinning ball this time but the compacting is shown as 'one active process' with the line going back and forth and the rest of the screen dimmed out. This has been going now for about an hour but I'm assuming that this really is an...

Spinning beach ball

This seems to be happening to me more often of late. Does it however mean that PSu is 'doing something' or that it has crashed? I'm reluctant to kill the app if it's doing something but sometimes the ball just keeps spinning for ages (2 hours!) so I suspect it has just crashed. For example. I just r...

Re: Export labels?

You can export to the Formatted Vocabulary format. Check the Data menu in the main hamburger menu. Hi and thanks Hert - ok, I've done that successfully and opened in Excel. I can see that the option to 'Import Formatted Vocabulary File' is also there in the hamburger menu. What format should I save...
