Re: lossing some of my enthusiasm
The first question is: does the main photo database give similar problems or is it just the scans?

Re: best use of bookmarks?
Maybe not "best", but when my wife looks through the catalogue and sees a picture she would like printed, copied to her tablet, etc, she bookmarks it. I do the rest

Re: Version Detection finds one file too many
Sorry for the late reply. Why don't I get a message from you replies? Look at the User Control Panel/Board Preferences/Edit notification options and set it how you want. I've tried %filename.* . But then _WEB and _HD are not found. Hmm ... They no longer match the mask. If you have derived files th...

Re: Thumbnails not displayed on import screen
Just tried it with 3117 (as currently available for download from user control panel) and it works perfectly with both jpegs and Sony .ARW files.

Re: Version Detection finds one file too many
Which files are detected as versions depends on "Version set detection mask" (default %Filename*.*) and "Version set offset folder". Whether or not a filename corresponds to a "Place holder matching method" has no influence on detection of versions.

Re: Reasons for using the Import Module?
As a hobbyist photographer (without the constraints of huge numbers, rapid culling, getting stuff out to clients, etc) I always use the import module. It provides every facility I can think of (and more!) and is both convenient and reliable. A rock solid way of being consistent with no fuss.

Re: Performance
...Interestingly enough, the catalog tab in the preferences says "thumbs.db not found", although I can see it in the file system and the date is updated, when I compact the thumbnails database (which takes a few hours). Any advice for a better performance experience is appreciated. I imagine that a...

Re: Ingest read-only
With build 2766 and Windows 10 it works. Explorer shows files to have the read-only flag set, and writing metadata from PSu for jpegs creates a sidecar xmp file.

Re: Error in script 'Find Duplicates in Photo Supreme'
If the .THM files were created by software you don't use any more and are just ignored by PSu does it matter whether they are associated with another file or not? Couldn't you just use file manager to search your system for files with that extension, delete the lot, and be done with it?

Re: How to ignore a folder
The only way I know of is to remove the folder from the catalog (right click and select Remove "folder"), scan for missing folders, then in the results box change the action from the default "Add folder to catalog" to "Ignore this folder".

It is, indeed, possible.

Re: Stacking settings in v5
Can the parameters for stacking be changed? In other words, can I set stacking to be done, for instance, only on images taken less than 1 second apart (or less than 5 seconds apart, or some other time interval that I choose)? If you can express it in a PSu %Macro you can do it. More importantly, ca...

Re: Write metadata to XMP sidecar, but not to image file
In addition to Hert's reply, if JPG files are made read-only (an option in the importer) then PSu will use a sidecar file on syncing.
