Re: Using Darwin Core for Cataloguing Organism Photos

fbungarz, we have independently come to the same conclusion. Thinking about loading all species into Photo Supreme, I also conclude it would be a massive, never ending task which would be effectively impossible in practice, ignoring the practicalities of the massive database this would create. A pra...

Re: Cascade from this Version to the Version Set

I have started a new topic about using Darwin core in the Workflows forum.
viewtopic.php?f=81&t=28977
My hope is we can programatically create all the required labels to correctly fill out the Darwin core XMP fields.

Using Darwin Core for Cataloguing Organism Photos

Darwin Core defines a standardised set of fields to facilitate the sharing of information about biological diversity. It includes fields for Occurrence, Organism, MaterialSample, Event, Location, GeologicalContext, Identification, Taxon, MeasurementOrFact and ResourceRelationship so is extremely com...

Re: Cascade from this Version to the Version Set

Thanks Frank for the detailed explanation. I am aware of the background of version stacks supporting different cataloguing. While I do not currently use the version stacks this way, I do understand the design choice Hert has made and have no issue with this decision. Hert has also understood that so...

Re: Cascade from this Version to the Version Set

The Cascade Metadata tweak synchronises some metadata but not all. It does not synchronise the Darwin core fields of dwc:Taxon.dwc:scientificName and dwc:Taxon.dwc:vernacularName for example which I use extensively. The Cascade to Version Set which Hert has implemented should do exactly what I requi...

Re: Dynamic Search by Photo Month

Easy when you know how. I have never noticed the Memories item in the timeline. Very useful.

Dynamic Search by Photo Month

I want to search on photos taken in a particular month but I cannot achieve this using Dynamic Search. I can use a filter of Macro Command for Month Number (%m) and this works well, but I would like to use a Dynamic Search if possible. I have added a custom macro field of photo date month number (% ...

Re: Cascade from this Version to the Version Set

Thanks Hert. This solves cascading the rating, but does not solve copying the XMP. (dwc:Taxon.dwc:scientificName and dwc:Taxon.dwc:vernacularName for example). Resynchronising in V6 is significantly faster than V5 but I was just hoping to avoid this step altogether. I would have expected that Cascad...

Re: Share: Copy Reduced

Thanks Hert. That means recipe crop and share resize are incompatible, common things I would have thought, but maybe not. This makes recipes for me useless as the two most common things I do are incompatible. I will have to revert to doing all my editing externally, slower, but it gets the job done.

Share: Copy Reduced

I use share to export my photos out of Photo Supreme 6.0.0.3625 regularly without issue. I am having trouble with Copying the file to a new folder with resize, longest side 2000 pixels and ‘Enlarge images that are smaller’ unticked. The share works correctly unless I crop the image with a recipe. My...

Cascade from this Version to the Version Set

For my JPG & Raw version sets, I catalogue the JPGs of the version set and then I cascade the cataloguing to the Raws. (Some cataloguing is automatically cascaded from JPG to RAW but some such as rating is not and I wish cataloging to be the same for Raw and JPG.) For Casade to Version Set, I tick a...

Custom Fields Not Decoded on Info Panel

I have added several custom fields exif:Meteringmode exif:ExposureMode exif:ExposureBiasValue which display perfectly in the Details panel in the “Your Custom Fields” section (numeric codes decoded to the description) but are not decoded on the Info panel. Details.JPG Info.JPG Correctly Decoded in t...

Stacking on Import Slow

Stacking on import is extremely slow for me. It is taking 25 seconds per image, but very occasionally it will stack about 5 images in half a second. Does anyone else have this issue? CPU is sitting at 32%, RAM at 37% of 16GB and no disk activity while the stacking is occurring. I am using Photo Supr...

Re: Folder and file names on the file system

My folder structure is a very simple <root>\yyyymmdd\%FileExtension\OriginalFilename After I have finished processing/cataloguing a folder/group of folders, I move them from the laptop hard drive to an external hard drive where the stay forever. I now have 340,000 photos catalogued so they take up t...
