Re: Resizing (downsizing) photos

barneagle, You don’t want to downsize your original photos to save space. Photo Supreme has a better solution for you. I manage my photos on a laptop with a 1TB SSD. I now have just over 4TB of photos being managed by Photo Supreme without any issue. I will describe my workflow for you and I suggest...

Re: working folder and storage folder

vkfoto, you have Photo Supreme, a Digital Asset Management system, but your workflow does not use the DAM to manage your assets while you are processing. I utilise a similar but different workflow and you may wish to consider something similar to make best use of your DAM. First, I download my image...

Thumbnail Facial Recognition Count

I have been finding facial recognition very fast and very useful. I am going back to tag my people photos with facial areas rather than my previous method of just tagging the photo with the people tags. As I have lots of photos to add the facial areas, this will take a lot of time, but I just intend...

Re: Photo Supreme V2024 is released

I installed V2024 trial yesterday with some trepidation due to the large amount of issues reported on this forum but I can report a very different experience. The upgrade was extremely fast and painless. I haven't found any issues yet after 6 hours plus of testing, so for me, a painless upgrade. I h...

Re: v2024 System Requirements

I have installed the trial version and used the Face Recognition. It appears that it runs in the CPU and does not require a GPU.

Is there any new system requirements introduced with offline face recognition? eg. Any GPU requirements?

Re: Portfolios and versions

As a long term user of versions and stacks, I generally have PSU configured at "Always Together as a Set" as I mostly want to treat all members of the version set as a single item but occasionally I reconfigure PSU to "As Set in Categories" when I need to see all members of the v...

Re: Metadata Missing for afphoto Files

I also use Affinity Photo with JPG, raw and affinity files as a version set. I also cascade from the JPG to affinity files so all three versions have the same metadata. I just select all the JPGs of the version sets and then cascade from this version to the version set. You can cascade multiple vers...

Re: Preview size changes

I think I can confirm this behaviour. What I see is after downloading a new set of photos from my camera and waiting for all the cataloging activity to end, I open the just downloaded image folder and view the JPGs by double clicking twice the first image. Images are displayed full screen. If I step...

Re: Stack Detection Mask

Thanks Hert. This is brilliant and works beautifully. This script will save me heaps of manual work. I am stunned how fast it runs. While the script works brilliantly and creates the stacks perfectly as requested, it has a couple of issues due to poor specification on my part. First, it stacks the o...

Stack Detection Mask

I regularly take sets of focus merge photos which I merge in camera or in PC. I use stack detection in Photo Supreme to create stacks of the merge photos. This works well for a small set of merge photos using a Stacking detection mask of %secondsbetween{3}. However, for large focus merge sets, the c...

Re: some advice needed how to manage an unusual image collection

Wow. You identify lichen. I thought identifying fungi was difficult but lichen is even worse. You are a sucker for punishment. To the point, my thought on your issue is that you have a plate of 13 lichen samples treated multiple ways creating 4 plate photos per 13 samples. Your issue is that you nee...

Re: Compacting thums DB error

Hert, given that lack of disk space when compacting is an ongoing issue with many users, could you do a disk space check before compacting and if insufficient space display a warning dialog with some information on resolving the issue such as how to change the temp folder. Just a thought.

Re: Photo Supreme 7.3

Ok, here is my experience with this upgrade. I use PC single user version on Windows 10. Firstly, this is a major (slow) upgrade to the database so make sure you backup your database before installing PhotoSupreme 7.3. Better safe than sorry. The application install is quick and painless as usual bu...

I forgot to add, pressing enter will also correctly open the image from the thumbnail. Only double click doesn't work.
