In the Preferences|Catalog settings, you can change the Size and Compression used on the previews to suit needs. I'm currently on 1440 pixels and 85% compression.

Re: “Continuing the import for 63 files” won’t go away!
Can agree about the TIF files I have had a couple of old TIF files cause exactly these problems including the removal of compression to overcome the problem. In my case the files were from scanned images many years ago no idea what drivers were in use at the time.

Re: Metadata not saved to many jpg files
You may find that until you close Windows Explorer, it keeps the file open for Write and hence blocks other programs trying to access the file.

Re: Question about People label metadata
Don't think your missing anything, it was the fact that you said you selected the "details" pane, I was thinking of the "Details pane" that appears on the right-hand side, but your referring to the details section for the Labels. I don't often have any reason to change the configuration "details ...

Re: Question about People label metadata
Seems to work as expected here, but without details of programme version, OS your using etc. its difficult to know if my system is comparable with yours. I simply assign a person label to the image and an entry appears under "IPTC Extension / Person in the image" fields.

Re: Transfer catalog label to another image?
I guess it depends a lot on your workflow, over many years we all develop various processes, some would seem convoluted and not use all the facilities that PSU offers but rather hang-overs from previous systems and the needs for mobile working if relevant.

Re: Transfer catalog label to another image?
Turn on the Labels panel, select an Image that has all the required Labels already, then click on the little "down arrow" beside the search button top left of the Labels Panel;

Re: Constant CPU utilization at times
Has the system compacted the database at all, normally once a large number of changes have been made it will prompt you at startup to do a compacting, not sure if it already has a queue of sync's to complete ? Possibly worth doing one from the menu whatever to see if it improves the situation?

Re: browsing files before importing
The Catalogue can't know what is on the card until it has imported them. Then you could inspect and delete those not required, before labelling them etc. Otherwise the only way you can see what is on the card before importing them is to open an Explorer window to view them ?

Would be an interesting exercise, my best to date is to use Batch mode and add a Border and a Caption with relevant info from the Metadata to the image itself.

Not quite sure why you continue to use the product as you don't seem to find the support and features to your liking!
Surely these are the sort of things you find out during the free evaluation, 30 day period!
