Re: database or disk full

I think you picked the wrong parameter. I used
SQLite scratch folder: This setting will move the SQLite scratch folder to somewhere else
WriteToRegistry('', 'SQLiteTempDir', 'c:\your folder here\');
put this in the Scripter and it worked.

Re: Facial recognition: a new option

Is anyone using the new V2 that came out in Sept last year? Does it still work as well? Better? How does PSU react to it? I have a whole pile of images with various family members and friends going back to old scanned images that I would like to properly file. Doing this manually is too much work. I...

backing out of a long running process

Some times I get overly ambitious and select too many images, e.g. "Not Catalog Labeled" (over 110k) and then realize too late that it will take way too long to display. Instead of ending the task in task manager, what is the better way to stop the process and get back to work?

Re: changing dates in bulk

A quick solution was to remove the dot between the time and the sequence number so
1991-04-03 21-54-58.10.TIF
became
1991-04-03 21-54-58 10.TIF

Re: changing dates in bulk

hmm, if the file name is only
1991-03-29 20-17-10.TIF
it works but if there is an extra number after the seconds
1991-03-31 21-52-06.1.TIF
or
1991-04-03 21-54-58.10.TIF
I get the runtime error.

How do I modify the script to deal with the extras which are not always used?

Re: changing dates in bulk

I selected one file with a date coded in the file name. 1991-03-31 21-52-06.2.TIF I copy pasted the code from the link above into Scripter Studio in to a new script. Saved it under its own name. Compiled without errors. Click Run and got a Script Runtime error. IDI.v5.ApplicationException ----- deta...

Re: Description Date

Ah, the date the intellectual content of the document was created (rather than the creation date of the physical representation) How something that was scanned years ago could have a Description Date of 2020-08-05 is beyond me. However, that was the date the folder containing that file was moved to ...

changing dates in bulk

Is there a way to extract the date from the file name and apply it to the create date of the image? My images all get renamed yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm-ss by the file importer. For some reason some don't have the create date set correctly. Especially scanned images. Doing this one at a time manually is not o...

Description Date

I was looking at the TimeLine and noticed a bunch of images that were not where I expected them to be. Looking closer, I see they are all placed according to the Description Date that is shown in the Details screen. The original RAW files are OK but many of the JPG filesthat were made from the raw f...

Re: database or disk full

Found it. Ran the script, saved, exited and restarted PSU. Now doing the compacting and I see the temp file building in the new location.
Thanks for all the help.

Re: database or disk full

Just to be clear, where it says
SQLite scratch folder: This setting will move the SQLite scratch folder to somewhere else
WriteToRegistry('', 'SQLiteTempDir', 'c:\your folder here\');
Once I enter my folder choice, is this done inside PSU or in the Windows registry?

Re: database or disk full

More like almost 10 times the space. 10 * 60 GB is only 600 GB which is still less than half the 1.36 TB free space left. Even with some other files, I'm no where near reaching the disk limit unless there is another limiting factor. With slightly more than 300k images in the database, could that hav...

Re: database or disk full

Just tried another compact and got the same message. First http://doei.ca/images-other/compact.JPG Then I see http://doei.ca/images-other/compacting catalog database.JPG and http://doei.ca/images-other/compacting thumbnail database.JPG When it ends I get this http://doei.ca/images-other/database or ...

Re: database or disk full

My thumbs db is just over 49,000,000 kb and the cat db is just over 9,000,000 kb. Both are on a 2 TB drive with 1.3 TB free space and yet I get a database or disk is full information popup when I run the compact both command. Since it is an info window, did the compact complete anyway and what shoul...

Re: Fuzzy/approximate dates?

Would also like this feature. My scanned files have the closest known date in the file name. Having the scanned date is not very helpful when looking at the timeline. Redating them one at a time can quickly become a pita. Is there a quicker way to do this? Parsing the start of the file name to extra...
