Re: removing extraneous keywords

Ah, good. I'll wait until all of the image folders have been imported, delete the extraneous keywords and then update the metadata in the files.

Re: What can I do with:"Error while converting RAW file. (-2) (0)"

What kind of raw file made by what camera? If the camera - lens combination is not supported by DXO I don't think it can process the resulting files.
I have some old CRW files from 2004 made by a Canon S30 that can't be processed

OOPS, didn't notice the named camera. Is it supported?

removing extraneous keywords

As I'm importing a new folder into PSU, I'm seeing a lot of keywords appearing in the Miscellaneous category in the form of word;word;word; etc. If select them and then from the right click menu, select delete, will it also remove them from the file itself? If not, is there an easy way to remove the...

Re: slow sync

1: yes a local drive
2: not yet but working on it
3: yes, all excluded

It's been 30 minutes so far and only 0.7%. Only 23,272 to go. Sure hope that SSD will make a big difference.

slow sync

I'm using build 3286 What is happening behind the scenes that makes the synchronization service so slow? I imported a new folder with about 33k images over 12 hours ago and it is still only at 16% completed. Total images now is just over 232k. There is lots of CPU activity, about 16% as well as memo...

Re: keyword organization

Thank you all for the organization information, lots of food for thought. Will have to review my keyword organization and see how it can be improved. @mike. Seems some of your examples are a bit too granular for me but I like the idea. I think I'll use the top level OBJECTS in PSU to place of what y...

keyword organization

I get that keywords help in finding a specific photo among the thousands stored in my collection. The WHO is obvious and taken mostly care of by face recognition. The WHEN is easy except for scanned images where the scanned date will often be long after the original image was made. As for WHERE, unle...

Re: more "database disk image is malformed"

After the first mal formed error, I've been busy rebuilding the database, taking the opportunity to bring some order to the images. Also learned my lesson and have been making backups a bit more often. Then today, in the middle of a sync session, PSU suddenly crashed to the desktop with an error mes...

still running after shutdown

Clicked on Exit in preparation of rebooting my computer. The app closed but when I look in Task Manager, I see IDimager still chugging away at 1 - 2 % CPU and using a whole whack of memory. To avoid database issue, do I need to let this continue? How do I get it to stop short of End Task?

Re: more "database disk image is malformed"

seems that in the more settings in the import wizard, I had Artificial Intelligence / Detect labels checked on. I removed this and things are moving along much smoother.

more "database disk image is malformed"

After getting the message "database disk image is malformed" when I tried to compact the database, I created a new database. The Import ingestWizard seems to get stuck at 83%. According to task manager, IDimagerSU is only using 0.1% of the CPU. Memory is at 757 MB. At this rate, 300k images will tak...

people from TTP

In the TTP help file they mention: Writekeywords –If you have keywords in TTP they will also be mirrored in the metadata.• Append People names to keywords –This setting writes names in the following fields: IPTC Core “Keywords” and XMP dc:subject. This is specifically required for Adobe Lightroom com...

best use of bookmarks?

I noticed some of my images have solid red hearts in the upper left corner. Hovering over one, it turns out to be a bookmark. I don't recall ever using those. Only 896 out of 300k images have them so not so many. They appear to be a random selection with no obvious pattern as to why they were marked...

Re: People tags not showing

hmmm, looking closer in TTP, I see that the name is classified under a label People while there is also a label called Tag which is blank. Would this make a difference in how PSU reads the data? Since there are many other images where PSU does see and display the People, could my temporarily turned ...

Re: People tags not showing

Yes, that is how I've set it up. I had removed the two face areas for a few days until it was pointed out that ".. you should activate the face regions for the following reason - by embedding the face metadata into the images themselves you add another layer of protection. If you have a backup of yo...
