Re: Keyword handling problems

I have no problem importing the photo; all the catalog labels appear and all can be deleted. Which doesn't help in fixing it, of course...

Re: Question re Versions

There are 3 ways you can do it: - apply a filter to the folder to only select JPG or RAW images - stack the images (which you can do as well as, or instead of, versioning) - change your preferences to always show versions as a set: DisplayAsSet.png Or split the JPGs and RAW files into different fold...

Re: New update: 6.3.0.3755

Another thing that could be the case is that your catalog is not in good order (mainly: missing indexes). Starting with a new catalog file and importing your 24K images will be faster and easier. That certainly sounded plausible, but turns out not to be the cause. I imported 12K images into a new c...

Re: New update: 6.3.0.3755

1) No, there are no active filters 2) Yes, the catalogs are excluded from the virus scanner; Windows Defender is entirely disabled 3) I'll give this a try and report back although, following my tests below, I don't think that's going to be the problem. I've also just been running the 24K image test ...

Re: New update: 6.3.0.3755

the performance improvement comes from an improvement in the software, and is unrelated to the database system used. maybe try to compact and try again. and keep preferences as default as possible. 17 seconds to open 24k images is dramatically slow. as mentioned, on my outdated laptop it does 20k i...

Re: New update: 6.3.0.3755

It's running OK so far, however switching from a folder with 1 image to another with 24K is now taking more time on my machine rather than less: Build 3705: ±17s Build 3755: ±24s Which is puzzling if it should be doing the opposite. Looking at the SQLite Change Log , I see that version 3.36.0 revers...

Re: Geotagging in Travel Mode

I appreciate the explanation, but still find the lack of UI feedback in this case surprising.

Though as I rarely use Travel Mode - hence why I've not come across this before - it's not a big issue for me.

Re: Geotagging in Travel Mode

Hert, you're right - the GEO coordinates do appear when the image is synced, which is good news :) If I add GEO coordinates by sticking a pin in the map while in travel mode, then the coordinates appear instantly, both in the geotagging panel and beneath the thumbnail (via my custom code) - identica...

Re: why now a category "Objects" ???

According to the manual, it's only special in that 'Automatically detected Objects or Landmarks, based by Artificial Intelligence, are placed in this category'. In practice there are (at least?) two additional features: 1) The name of labels in the 'Objects' hierearchy are written into the metadata ...

Re: why now a category "Objects" ???

'Objects' has been a part of the default structure on my machine for years, so not sure why it's only just turned up on yours? Unless it's because you had deleted it.

Geotagging in Travel Mode

I have many catalog labels set up to apply a GEO Location when an image is labeled. I've just spotted - after several labeling sessions in Travel Mode - that the Geo Locations from the labels aren't being applied - the coordinates still show as 0.000000. Turn Travel Mode off and they work as expecte...

What I've found is that I can enter without any issues when only one photo is selected but when I have multiple selected if there are any suggestions I am unable to type anything else.
Build 3705 working OK here on Windows 8.1, so maybe a Mac-only issue?

Re: Meaning of "with area" and "with recipe"

"With area" = people (or other objects) within the image have been tagged
"With recipe" = the image has been modified within PSU using the 'adjust' tools (cropped, flipped, rotated, etc)

Re: Stalling frequently on startup (not-responding)

To update my last post, PSU stopped responding at some point in the last hour, after verifying for 3 or 4 hours, so I killed it. The next start was stuck on verification, so I killed that after a couple of minutes. The next attempt still ran the 'verification' processes but only for a few seconds, o...

Re: Stalling frequently on startup (not-responding)

Thanks Hert. I've run that, restarted and had '0' returned from running the first script. However it seems not to have resolved the issue - the two 'verification' processes are still running on startup. On the first restart they both stopped after a couple of seconds. On the second the first verific...
