Re: Unable to scroll past first 4 values of location created

Yes, I can confirm that (if no metadata has been entered in the ITPC fields).

If the fields have been populated with something - e.g. by adding GEO coordinates in the GEO Tagging panel - then it does scroll as expected.

Build 3581.

Re: Out of sync: read or write metadata?

You could use ExifTool to export the metadata from the image, and use the 'Export Metadata to CSV File' option in PSU for the same image, then compare the files.

Through usage, I've learned that it's OK to trust PSU and just sync the metadata.

Re: Slow transition between tabs (folder to category)

Build 3575 was good, 3581 flies (under 3 seconds for all the above mentioned timings). Excellent!

Please update to build 3575.
So far, that's a huge improvement - no more than 8 seconds to switch from category to folder tabs, and 20 to 25 seconds to fully expand branches of the folder tree.

Thanks :)

Re: Editor integration on versions

One way of approaching this is by using separate directories - as I do . If you've versioned the images together, then you can browse just the directory containing the smaller JPGs - but you'll need a JPG of each image for that to work. You can easily switch between version tabs to decide which vers...

Re: Scrambled Metadata

There's no way that I know of reversing them back to how they were originally tagged without restoring the correctly tagged images from backups.

Re: Scrambled Metadata

I'm guessing that you clicked 'version selection files' rather than 'version detection'.

I'd delete the images from within PSU and re-import them from a backup, if you have one. Otherwise delete all the tags and start tagging again?

Re: Slow transition between tabs (folder to category)

For a while I thought that installing build 3571 had fixed it for me. The first few tab switches after launching it were much quicker - 11" to change tabs, 12" to being able to start labeling, and 34" until the image count in the image tree finished displaying. Now it's slowed right down again. Stra...

Re: Slow transition between tabs (folder to category)

I have an issue with the folder view which might be another manifestation of this problem. If I expand a folder with many subfolders the counters will show up very slowly: - for 262 subfolders it takes 1 minute and 35 seconds - for 34 subfolders it's 15 seconds I tried your experiment too (using th...

Re: Slow transition between tabs (folder to category)

Further to my figures above, I've just run the same test again. As I'm in the process of cataloging that means I'm using different images, folders and categories to before. The time the figures are significantly better: Category tab to folder tab (folder tab to folder tab slightly faster) 35" before...

I wonder what database they are using.
SQLite, apparently - the same as the standard version of Photo Supreme. Stability should not normally be an issue.

Re: Slow transition between tabs (folder to category)

My perception of PSU v6 is that it is faster than v5 in most ways, but the category to folder transition time seems longer. I share your perception. To add some figures: Category tab to folder tab 1' 19" before the tab switches 1' 38" before the 'no images selected' disappears and I can start label...

Re: keyword organization

...as a quick, effective, but dirty way of adding a separate 'location shown' tag, I misuse a face-tagging box by linking it to a location instead of a person... You can now do this properly in PSU v6, which now enables the region type to be something other than human, in accordance with the latest...

I am starting out with PSU and can't figure out how to get LocationShown to be different LocationCreated.
IFAIK, you have to use the 'Details' panel to edit them separately - see viewtopic.php?f=81&t=28269&p=125583#p125583

Re: DXO Photolab 4 Workflow

As another DxO user, my preference is to delete the PL database intermittently. I do save the DOP files, but more out of habit - once I've exported the image I very rarely return to modify it again, so they rarely serve any subsequent purpose. Indeed even if I did want to return to them, I now have ...
