Re: Font rendering
Yeah, it is so much easier to be a user instead of feeling responsible, Mr. Founder. Instead there is one useless answer after the other. Why don't you use the feedback to become at least acceptable. Do you think we can't write? Write any reviews? I will do! On every single plattform I'll write my ...

Re: How to debug Slowness?
1h is even too much for 1K or perhaps even 10K images.
I had to do a little bit of googling to find the Postgres settings that make a difference and then some tuning and testing.
My setup looks very much the same as yours, although without the Ethernet connection. So, i'd test and tune that first.

Re: Mantis Account Disabled
I would send an email to Hert via the link in the footer of his posts here, or to info@idimager.com. That would probably be the way to get it unlocked.

Re: 5x4 Aspect Ratio
Hi Hert,
I was looking for that option, but i don't see it in the States tab in my version 4981 (PostgreSQL on Windows 10). Is something missing, or do i need to take some action first?

Re: Crashes when importing a large collection of files
A number of challenges are presented in this thread, perhaps good for others than the OP to open their own thread to get more appropriate and dedicated answers. Also, i think it is good to separate the concerns: 1. importing large images sets and 2. working with large image databases. Ad 1. While i ...

Re: Import to Catalog
I believe that you should once use the dialog and choose save at the moment of import. I'm quite certain it will then stick (at least for me it does).

Re: evaluating PSU - postgresql out of memory
Hi, i do use Postgres as my database. I'm running it natively on my system (Windows), not in a VM. I'm curious to your config settings for Postgres. Could you share some of the memory and process settings so we can compare notes? It may be that on initial import you need to break up the images in ba...

Re: Image cataloging question
I'm not sure if we understand the same what "open" means. Of course you can show all tables, you can see some things but you don't know nothing about relations between tables/ fields. So for me personaly here is nothing open. Fair point! With 'open' in this case i mean 'have access to it'...

Re: Image cataloging question
PSU has adopted the XMP standard and can (= setting) read/write XMP sidecar files. Other similar apps could/should use the same standard. My question would be why you'd want more than one app that manages your keywords/metadata? By the way, the database of PSU itself, both the standalone and server ...

Re: Anyone using v7 with DXO PhotoLab 5 ???
Thanks for the advice. I did the upgrade now. We'll see... You'll feel at home and be amazed at some of the new things. I use PL as well for my special needs development (Capture One is my bread-n-butter developer). I also only do my catalogueing in PSU and i don't build thumbnails based on PL reci...

That is the correct procedure. Once added to the catalog, it won't ask again, just for folders or files not yet managed in the catalog.

Re: Open all photos in Affinity Photo
Observe this thread on official Affinity support forum: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/172369-are-legacy-msi-v2-installers-available/ That thread has no update since first post and there's no link for the MSI installer. So I presume Serif is not ready yet with the installer? Or i...
