Re: Public Beta for Photo Supreme Online

This is very interesting. "The Web Service Module is a low-cost solution for smaller user groups (up to 10 concurrent users). This can be the members of your household in a home network environment, or team colleagues in a small business environment. But with the right configuration you can also ope...

Re: Folder and file names on the file system

I have more than one folder structure, mainly depending on how old an image is and if the image is related to my own family or not: 1: Old images Folder structure is ..... d:\Name of Archive\Family\Main Topic\Sub Topic\File name A good example here is a set of scanned images from an old bible. It be...

Re: Reasons for using the Import Module?

Me using Import almost everytime I have some new photos in Mobile or Camera. This will do some nice housekeeping like updating proper metadate. Also very fond of the fact that PSU remembers what was imported last time and only grabs the new photos.

Re: What do you use your color labels for?

Morning,

I use the colour labels for one thing only. When I have uploaded a photo to SmugMug I set it as green.

Re: Fuzzy/approximate dates?

I have a lot of scanned images and would benefit from an approximate date. My current rather un-scientidfic approach is to use "April 27". As soon as I have a year (for example 1945) but no date I enter the date as 1945-04-27. So when I see a date of 1882-04-27 I know I have no date ... only the yea...

Re: Loving Photo Supreme!

Morning,

My days started with ThumbsPlus soon followed by IDI. And as said above, PSU is best. I use it almost every day and it is the key /main tool to manage my archive of objects. Will also agree that support from various people (with Hert first) is very good.

Re: Extract and show video recording date

Sweden is ahead of England (of course) so we are GMT+1 I have added datestamp from file properties and length of film below File 1: Filename says 094012 PSU says 084025 Windows Explorer says 09:40 file properties says 08:40:25 length of film is 0 min and 12 secs File 2: Filename says 174319 PSU says...

Re: Extract and show video recording date

Using Windows Explorer gives me (I assume) Window's time for the two files. They are as follows: File 1: Filename says 094012 and PSU says 084025 and Windows Explorer says 09:40 File 2: Filename says 174319 and PSU says 164512 and Windows Explorer says 17:45 I will do some more testing and also try ...

Re: Extract and show video recording date

Morning, I see things have improved but I am still having a bit of a problem. Using Windows 10,64 bit and PSU 2654 single version. Files from my Samsung Galaxy 7 (both JPG and MP4) have filenames that include the date and time when photo/film was captured. This timestamp in the name has for JPGs all...

Re: Happy New Year everyone!

PSU is the key tool to manage my memories ... can not survive without it

Looking forward to 2020 and further use, will probably extend my usage to GEO tagging and Labels.

Re: Timeline: how to set the timestamp for photos?

Morning, I have a lot of old scanned photos where I am uncertain about the date but I can always guess on a year. For these I have decide to use an invented date, which is April 27. I know I am guessing on the year but if I am wrong nobody will be able to say so. If I have an old photo which I guess...

Re: General feedback on search function in PSu

Morning, Have been using PSU for many years and the search facility is for me one of its strongest points. I do not create advance search criteria, I just type in a word or two. What I do like is that I don't have to specify where to search for this word, PSU looks for it all over the place. I know ...

Re: _iditempori_ and film names

Thanks Hert, My thinking as well, like what I did for JPGs. Text in Description is gone for the films that have the wrong time. Assume this was lost when the _iditempori_ was created and kept. I will now focus on my issue with time to try to find out when in my workflow this happens. Regards, Harald

_iditempori_ and film names

Morning, 12 films with my Sony camera gave me 12 MP4 files. After imported they all show up in PSU and the content is all ok. There are also XMP and THM files and this is where my confusion starts For these 12 MP4 files there are 12 THM files but 3 are named "XXX.THM" and the other 9 are named "XXX....

Re: Naming convention scanned film

Hello Mike, Interesting to see your structure, I use the same components but store them in metadata: You have " photographer-date-device-serialNumber (and for device I'd use 'scan' or 'Minolta5400')." When I import images in to PSU I do this with a few Import Profiles. There is actually > one profil...
