Re: app starting in wrong resolution

Apple made a change in Sonoma. Make sure that you upgrade to the latest build, anything higher than 2023.2.0.5027. That is the version that includes the Sonoma support.

Re: Can`t open a picture in Nikons NX Studio anymore

I tried it here with a JPG file, and it opens in NXStudio. Maybe the file type that you open in NXStudio is not supported by the NXStudio software? Also try to (hard) reboot the computer. You can also use Alt+Drag on a thumb in PSU and drop the thumb in another application. Depending if that softwar...

Re: Can`t open a picture in Nikons NX Studio anymore

A warm welcome to the forum.
Photo Supreme passes the file to the external application. How the external application handles the file is not something Photo Supreme controls. In your case NX Studio is not opening the file.

Re: Is there a problem with Smugmug?

I just uploaded 40 images to SmugMug without issues.
You state: "after an access violation". If, for whatever reason, you get an access violation then try to restart the software before trying again.

If it persists then maybe you can narrow it down to a single file?

Re: evaluating PSU - postgresql out of memory

I run PostgreSQL on a Windows server and never have any memory issues (16GB internal memory and 512GB SSD drive). All reports that I have received about PG memory issues were all about PG instances that were installed on Virtual Machines with Linux and hence I expect this to be related to that combi...

Re: Creating catalogs and uploading images

A warm welcome to the forum. I'm having trouble creating new catalogs. I create, but then it won't open. OR it says "choose an application", I choose photo supreme, then says it doesn't exist. After creating a new catalog, you can open it in the software by selecting the catalog from the u...

Re: Cannot generate PDF thumbnails following migration to new PC

Basically this means that whatever software codec that is installed on your new computer is unable to generate a thumbnail for your PDF files. Most likely you had different software installed on your old computer to handle PDF files. AFAIK Adobe Acrobat Reader will generate the thumbs for the OS if ...

Re: Tips for working with Photo Supreme

The quickest way to create an area for a face is by hovering the mouse over the face and then press E on the keyboard to create a new area.

PS. For this to work you don't need a Google API key because the face area detection for this runs locally.

Re: Crashes when importing a large collection of files

The Single Edition uses SQLite as the database system and unlike a "full RDMS", SQLite is a desktop database that uses a single file. SQLite is very robust but can become corrupt. The most common reason for corruption is when the computer power fails during a write operation to the databas...

Re: evaluating PSU - postgresql out of memory

If your database consumes too much memory then check the database configuration settings. Lower max connections or work memory or cache memory settings. Google on the subject to find more suggestions for memory issues with PostgreSQL on your platform. Google on postgresql out of memory Here’s a rand...

There's no control over that. PSU just shouldn't show the indicator when the forementioned preference setting is ticked.

Re: Understanding the Out of sync indicator

Upon a first import, the XMP block is created which puts images out of sync. But you are correct that displaying the out-of-sync marker makes little sense when you ticked the box for "store the metadata to the database only". As soon as you untick that, PSU should know the sync state, henc...
