Re: Swap folder colors via script

I hope my top came across right.

1. Select multiple folders
2. Change the folder color for a selected folder

That will change the color for all selected folders in one go.

Re: Missing Thumbnails for Affinity Photo Files

I do see the image in the Finder when I use the Quick Look option on my Mac. Quick Look is something different than icons in Finder. Visit a folder in Finder and set the view to "As Icons". Here on my macOS (version 12.6) I get to see thumbs in Finder when I open a folder containing AFPHO...

Re: Keywords missing from export

A warm welcome to the forum. What Geoff states used to be the case, but Microsoft finally did adopt (some) metadata standards (was it first in Win 8.1??) and stopped using the NTFS streams to store metadata. How did you create that JPG in PSU? I assume you selected the TIF and then right click -> Op...

Re: Swap folder colors via script

AFAIK There's no such script What you can do: select multiple folders and then change the folder state. It will change for every selected folder. Tip: Select the root and press Alt+right to recursively expand. Then select all the yellow folders (Ctrl+Click/Cmd+Click) and change them to Blue in one go.

Re: some advice needed how to manage an unusual image collection

Tagging Areas with people is optimized. 1. Place the mouse over a face 2. Press E to a dd a new area 3. If a face is detected there (no online detection takes place) then the area for the face is created The link icon for an Area offers suggestions from either the People, Objects, or Places category...

For Affinity files, Psu asks the OS to generate a thumb.
Check if you see thumbs in Finder for your afphoto files.

Re: Problems PSU Lite Edition ?

A warm welcome to the forum! first, when I want to use the Search field to find a file whose name contains dashes or undercores, it doesn't work. I must necessarily go through the "Search by Filename Part" script. It's not the most practical :( How can I use special characters in the Searc...

Re: File list in the log in dialoge

The drop down is intended to display catalogs that exist in the standard catalog folder or in the same folder as the catalog you have currently open. I very much liked Geoff's suggestion to create different shortcuts to different catalogs. As a side note: storing catalogs on a NAS is tricky. SQLite ...

Re: Darwin Core Trivialname remains empty

dwc:Taxon:dwc:vernacularName I think that should be dwc:Taxon.dwc:vernacularName (no semi colon between taxon and dwc. Could be a typo though. Version: 6.7.2.4229. But I think that has not changed in version 7. Did you try it in V7? It is unclear what you are doing. If I try to match the pieces the...

Re: Compacting thums DB error

Good tip. That used to be the case.

However, since v7, PSU offers the option to downsize existing previews when made smaller so no manual rebuild is needed anymore.

Re: Compacting thums DB error

To compact a database you need minimum the size of that database as free disk space.
What is your preview size configured at? In general there should be no need to set that over 1440. If configured at a higher value then lower that to 1440.
