Re: Unable to backup Thumbnail database

6.73GB for 140 images is not normal. That sounds like you have a lot more than 140 images in the catalog. Double check that you you have a backup of the thumbs database safely stored...if so, then delete the thumbs database (not the one in your backup), then start PSU. Then select Tools -> Build Mis...

Re: Unable to backup Thumbnail database

Backup of the database in the Single User edition is a simple file copy process (PSU tells macOS to copy file from A to B). Why a file copy fails is more or less the usual guessing: disk space on the target drive is not sufficient, no access to the target folder, source file is locked, ... Tip; you ...

Re: Unable to backup Thumbnail database

where is the file locate please?
That depends on whether you're on Windows or Mac, or if you created your own catalog.
You can enable the login dialog in Preferences-General. Then on startup you'll see the location in the login screen. Afterwards you can disable the login dialog again.

Hi Mick, Is there sufficient disk space for the thumbs database?
FYI; backup of the database is a file copy operation.

@andrew; what browser are you using? And if you’re using a Download Manager then try to download without.

Re: How to search with wildcards in Server version (PostgreSQL)?

PSU uses Free Text Search technologies that come with the database. And every database has their own implementation. I wasn't aware that the * character would behave as a wildcard when no additional text is entered. That is probably due to how the database in the single user (SQLite) works. This is ...

Re: Stripping out metadata

In addition to Mike's reply....you can indeed use ExifTool. Use that to remove all IPTC-IIM (classic IPTC), and the XMP. Then start from there. That will only leave you with the Exif. You may have used products that also alter Exif so you can never be 100% sure that you're back to the virgin state o...

Re: develop changes not showing

Hi Mick, All RAW develop software store their development parameters as proprietary values. Only their own software is able to generate exact renders of the edits. That includes DXO, C1, Lightroom. Photo Supreme is able to at least render some of the edits. The goal for this is to provide just that ...

Re: PostgreSQL: FATAL: database "xxx" does not exist

Postgresql is a RDBMS and you can’t just replace the database files. Yes they are on disk but you should never touch the files directly. Postgresql manages the files. Start pgadmin and expand the node of your computer. Then connect to the photosupreme database. Can you? Unauthorized error? Maybe you...

You can install Pgadmin (if not installed already). There, check if you can connect to the database.

Changes are always documented on https://whatsnew.idimager.com.

Not sure what you mean with "manually accept that there are new photos".

Re: can't connect to database after Windows Update

SQLlite VACUUM fail
Insufficient disk space. SQLite needs to recreate the database file in order to do the Vacuum. That means that at least the size of the database file needs to be available as free space.

Re: can't connect to database after Windows Update

If you do labeling on your laptop then you don’t need to enable ICS because hierarchical labels are also part of the standard metadata. This unlike versions, portfolios, area labels. Those are also in ICS.
