Re: script in "external applications"

Why didn't I think of that :)
You can create a Windows batch that starts PSU to run a script on startup to then close after the script is ran. And that batch can be set as an external application.
Check the Maintenance manual for command line parameters.

Re: script in "external applications"

A script is not an application so you cannot add it to external applications.

Re: there happens to be a script ...

Use the script below at your own risk. It's a script that I personally use to move my iPhone pictures (which I copy to a temporary folder first) to my archive. Make sure to configure the 3 constants at the top. const cPhotosRootFolder = 'C:\My Photos'; cSubFoldersMask = '%yyyy\%mm\%yyyy-%mm-%dd'; cF...

Re: rotated raw files not displayed correctly in photo editors

Does that mean PSU physically changes the pixels of the file? Is the image being re-saved? If so, is that lossless???
For a JPG the pixel data is rotated lossless.

Re: rotated raw files not displayed correctly in photo editors

Unfortunately, I am still confused by your response: You suggest that PhotoSupreme uses internal recipes to rotate and that "no other tool reads" these recipes. If that's the case, why do JPGs open correctly in external editors after having been rotated inside PSu? Does this means the recipes chang...

Re: Newbie before buy questions

A warm welcome to the forum. 1, It is possible to have custom thumbnail info with only tags (keywords) ? No filename and other things like ratings etc... Just clean image with tags (keywords) only You can use the macro %CatalogLabelList to show a label list (which you also see when hovering the coun...

Re: rotated raw files not displayed correctly in photo editors

Thank you for sending the files. My findings: 1. When you create a DNG from the NEF then *always* configure the DNG Converter to include a full size preview. 2. The rotation is done with a PSU Recipe (I forgot about that). Afaik, no other tool reads PSU recipes which is why you don't see your rotati...

Re: Best Way to Reorganize Folders & Catalog

All relevant data is available as metadata. When you switch to other software then your hierarchical labels are available as or:hierarchicalSubject. Every self respecting DAM reads that. Same goes for portfolio collections which is available as metadata as well (Mwg collections).

Re: Fuji RAF and Leica DNG files and light table

Psu always loads the preview where available (Psu is not a raw developer). Only when no, or a tiny preview is found then Psu develops the RAW.
If you make your own DNG files with a RAW developer tool then make sure to select the option to add a full size preview.

Re: Show pictures with no Place

Sorry, I should've been clearer.

Clicking on a Category gives you only the category. Clicking a Category's counter gives you the hierarchical results of the Category.

So Alt+Click on the category's counter to exclude the category hierarchically.

Re: rotated raw files not displayed correctly in photo editors

Check your orientation tags. There’s one in XMP, there’s one in Exif. Some tools check one, some check the other, some check both, some check none. Of course there are oddities if one tool updates something and another tool doesn’t read it. Check your orientation tag after rotating in psu. Psu updat...
