Re: Custom thumbnail view problems

Custom Thumb Lines are intended to show fragments of information together with the thumbnail.

A Custom Thumb Line is exactly that: "one line"; and there's 5 lines to define...not 5 text-blocks...not 5 text-fields, but 5 configurable individual text-lines.

Re: Compacting throws exception

I think that SQLite uses the Windows Temp folder (which will be on your system drive by default) to create the compacted database. Here's how you can change the Windows Temp folder...make sure to restart the computer after changing the temp folder. https://www.howtogeek.com/285710/how-to-move-window...

Re: Compacting throws exception

SQLite (the database) reports that there is insufficient diskspace to complete the operation. database or disk is full In order to do a compact, you need at least the amount of free diskspace that the database is. e.g. to compact a 1GB database you'll need at least 1GB of free disk space on the same...

Re: Custom thumbnail view problems

You can configure max 5 lines for custom thumbnail text.
As an alternative you can use the Info Panel to define custom fields to see more info about the selected image;

Re: Custom thumbnail view problems

Here's a sample to split one field over multiple lines

Custom line 1:
%xmp:Iptc4xmpExt:PersonInImage{encode=html;mid=1, 35}

Custom line 2:
%xmp:Iptc4xmpExt:PersonInImage{encode=html;mid=36, 70}

Custom line 3:
%xmp:Iptc4xmpExt:PersonInImage{encode=html;mid=71,106}

Re: Custom thumbnail view problems

MediaPro writes some proprietary metadata fields, meaning metadata fields that don't follow metadata standards. First thing you should do is to rid of those; PSU offers some scripts that allow you to break out of such proprietary information by converting such fields to standard metadata. Did you al...

Re: Database disk image is malformed (0)

Is your database on an internal hard drive? Did you have power outage recently.

Either way, you can always manually copy the two catalog files from the backup to the catalog folder. Then start psu. Compact afterwards

Re: Slow

First of all, compact the database regularly. Make a weekly habit of that. Furthermore, when your drives are online then they will be accessed. A NAS is typically slow to access and typically use HDSs instead of fast drives. If you don’t want PSU to access your drives then switch to offline mode. In...

The dump has been sent to Apple.
Ehrm...Apple uses such reports only to improve their OS. :)
Maybe your catalog file is corrupt?

Re: Do not create a label v This label is private

Do not create keyword for this label ; The catalog label will not be written as a keyword in the metadata of the images that it is assigned to This label is private ; The label will never be written to the metadata, not even in the IDimage Core Schema. I think I don't have to explain the first one....

Re: Recurring error asking for statistics

Try this;
Open the new database
Close psu
Start psu

That will start psu with the new database.

Re: Can't delete empty category

Photo Supreme uses SQLite as the database. That is a very popular desktop database that typically will not corrupt. Possible reason for corruption is almost always power outage during a database write operation.

UPDATE: I now see from another post that these categories may be build into the program and can't be deleted - Places and Events - is that the case?
Spot on. These categories are used by application features.

Re: Ordering labels within categories

Unfortunately that is not possible. The labels always list alphabetically. Can you explain why it would benefit you if you could sort them manually?

Right now, the only way to achieve a manual order is by adding a prefix to the name. But that’s far from ideal.
