Re: P Supreme 6 and searches
So in that situation, I would (1) give each image the category of "dog", and - as it's important to you - have each the specific breed as a subcategory; and then (2) put the best ones into a portfolio. You may or may not want to divide your "dog" portfolio into breeds. If you were just to use portfo...

Re: P Supreme 6 and searches
Geoff's explanation is a great way of thinking about it. It's hard to say without knowing specifics but I do get the impression that you are using portfolios for the purpose categories are intended for; and whilst that may seem ok at the moment you are likely to find, further down the road, that you...

Re: P Supreme 6 and searches
Hi Raptor, I don't personally know enough about the search functionality to properly answer that question. There is a searching PDF, which may answer some of your questions, worth a look anyway if you haven't already. Searches will certainly scan the text in your catalog metadata (eg headlines, desc...

Re: P Supreme 6 and searches
'Categories' as opposed to 'Portfolio' - this is covered in the "quick start - cataloging" PDF (see under the question mark logo bottom left of PSU). Basically portfolios are intended to be the equivalent of an artist/photograper's physical portfolios, i.e. selected images to show off your work. It...

Re: Picture quality very bad
If you click on the "options" button - the cogwheel on the bottom right of your first screenshot - there is an option to "load full size images" - if this is not selected you may see a drop in quality when viewing (but quicker loading of the image).
(Nice picture BTW!)

Re: Cursor disappears
No idea if it's related but just in case it is: if there are too many items to fit in certain drop-downs, scroll doesn't work - until you switch focus to a different windown and switch back again. (In V5, I haven't yet installed V6 to check if it's still the same)

Re: how do you store your images?
Excellent question. I'll have this problem too at some point - I keep putting it off because I haven't completely processed all my own digital pictures yet, ingested but not all rated, labelled etc! I think the only solution will be to label them by source - where/whom they came from - and "set" wit...

Re: error message when invoking geotag panel
Thanks Hert. I've had a play and the message still happens regardless of whether those keys are in HKCU or not!
It's not a show stopper, I can always cancel the message and the map still works.

Re: error message when invoking geotag panel
Thanks Friedrich, I had a check but I don't have any IP (or any other) restrictions set on mine - I recall wanting to but not doing in the end for that very reason. So this is a strange one. Possible red herring and wild goose alert: I had a vague recollection of something relating to browser engine...

Re: error message when invoking geotag panel
Yes: I tried it twice, the first as my normal user which has administrator privileges anyway, then repeated this time explicitly choosing "run as administrator". No change unfortunately.

Re: error message when invoking geotag panel
I did the download and re-install (I noticed it upgraded from 3431 to 3433) but still getting the message; perhaps I did something incorrectly?
I am happy to check and/or edit the registry manually if that will do it?

error message when invoking geotag panel
Can anyone tell me why I get this error and how I can avoid it please? When I invoke the geotag panel and it loads the little map I get an error message as follows: An error has occured in the script on this page. Line: 0 Char: 0 Error: Script error Code: 0 URL: https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/...

Re: importing
In V5 there is an option on the import settings, in the "copy images to new location" section, called "duplicate handling" with options of "skip file", "overwrite file", "make name unique". But PSU will normally remember which images you have already imported and will not re-mark these for import un...

Re: Oddity on forum ?
I did just have an oddity when replying to Hert, my reply ended up before his post. Due I think to timezone differences, and if so ironically exactly the same as my PSU issue report in post viewtopic.php?f=57&t=28543 !

Re: Share your best find in version 6
Yes, that's also very useful, especially when the tracker dropped out in the middle of the day and had to be restarted! I even tried it with a week's worth of tracks once, to geotag a whole holiday at one go, but that made it a bit slow, to be fair that did represent a great many data points in the ...
