Re: Flickr Uploads Failing

I would recommend to share to a folder and then use Flickr's own uploader (web page) by simply selecting all the files in the folder and dragging them to the uploader web page. It's a robust and easy method.

Re: Google AI and PSU design

That's strange - I've checked several times and it's always behaved as per "detect and assign known labels". Regardless, now I know I can use "detect labels" from the dropdown (or the equivalent you've pointed out on the batcher) that's what I need, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Re: Google AI and PSU design

Ah, and does clicking the big "detect labels" button in the LAP - the one that's just behind the drop-downs in your first screenshot - does that always correspond to "detect and assign known labels"?

Re: "Mark none" has to be clicked twice

It happens fairly consistently here - not sure how I could investigate it to get you more info? Not that it's a massive issue.

Google AI and PSU design

I've posted before about Google AI being inaccurate. I think PSU's design in this area exacerbates the problem. It allows us to "detect" the labels and then decide whether to allocate them. So far so good. But it seems that if a label detected by G-AI pre-exists in the PSU catalog's main label hiera...

"Mark none" has to be clicked twice

A very minor issue that's been present as long as I can remember: In the import to catalog function (the full import screen, not the wizard), on entry any images not already imported are marked for import - a very intuitive and useful behaviour. If one should wish to de-mark the images, the middle d...

Re: why now a category "Objects" ???

A number of the built in categories have special meaning/treatment within PSU - though I don't know off the top of my head if objects is one of them - if you can identify which is which it would be advisable to merge labels and images from the "non-built-in" object category into the built-in one.

Re: Smugmug question

I know the feeling - when I cannot decide which pictures deserve to go on flickr - eg between two versions of the same subject - I rely on my other half's suggestions!

Re: Smugmug question

I can't answer your question directly but to get round similar and other issues uploading to Flickr I no longer use PSU to upload. Instead I use PSU to "share to folder" to put my pictures, with the sizing and metadata options I require, into a temporary staging folder. Then I use Flickr's web uploa...

Re: P Supreme 6 and searches

So in that situation, I would (1) give each image the category of "dog", and - as it's important to you - have each the specific breed as a subcategory; and then (2) put the best ones into a portfolio. You may or may not want to divide your "dog" portfolio into breeds. If you were just to use portfo...

Re: P Supreme 6 and searches

Geoff's explanation is a great way of thinking about it. It's hard to say without knowing specifics but I do get the impression that you are using portfolios for the purpose categories are intended for; and whilst that may seem ok at the moment you are likely to find, further down the road, that you...

Re: P Supreme 6 and searches

Hi Raptor, I don't personally know enough about the search functionality to properly answer that question. There is a searching PDF, which may answer some of your questions, worth a look anyway if you haven't already. Searches will certainly scan the text in your catalog metadata (eg headlines, desc...
