Re: Import (from SD/CF-card) does not work (anymore)

Hi Martin Yes that's the option - glad to have been able to help. I'm not entirely sure but I wonder if the issue with the remaining two images might be something in your import settings? Something similar threw me a few years ago - I forget the details but I'd had some issues on an import (not PSU ...

Re: how to copy path and filename

No worries and thanks for helping, it's what this great forum is all about. Strange about the browsers though - I use FF myself, I have Ghostery and NoScript installed on and other security settings so I sometimes don't see some images etc myself but I can confirm that I did see Geoff's screenshot u...

Re: Scanned transparencies

I think I misread this when you first posted as I read the first bit and assumed the issue you were asking about was the philoshopical (?) one of what date to give the images, but if the question is about how to redate, then right click > redate gives multiple options - hope this helps!

Re: Import (from SD/CF-card) does not work (anymore)

Assuming V5 is a typo and it's V4 (as per your last line) - and with apologies if this is a bit a "have you plugged it in" - but have you definitely enabled the import to catalog? There are two distinct sections to the import, each has a "slider" on-off control - (a) copy images to new location (whi...

Totally understand and agree with your rationale Stephen.
When you do reach an appropriate point to go for the upgrade I'm sure you will be pleased with V4.

Re: Export list of file names

I would advise upgrading though. It doesn't take long. And as for stability - we're on 4.3.2.x now!

Re: Export list of file names

Select the files, right click > run script from repository > file system > copy filename to clipboard.

I know because someone helpfully told me not too long ago! :-)

Edit: Doh G8DHE, you beat me to it!

Re: External editor with PSu edits?

Yes, the crop dialogue overlaying the image is a bit of a nuisance. I have two other "nuisance behaviours" raised in mantis forever now: https://mantis.idimager.com/view.php?id=2931 and https://mantis.idimager.com/view.php?id=2922. As for your question, as you know PSU has non-destructive editing, i...

Re: Backing up constantly changing files?

I take it you are talking about backups of the image / sidecar files rather than PSU catalogue backups. If you are exchanging images as part of your activities then you will almost certainly be wanting to write the metadata to the image/sidecar file, either automatically or manually at your convenie...

Excellent, hadn't realised it would play, with the associated program, on a double click.

Happy Christmas to all you PSU-ers!

Re: Attached audio side car file

There's certainly nothing stopping you adding an audio format file (or any other kind) to PSU's list of file types that it manages (do this in preferences); and you can easily add an audio playback program to the list of tools in PSU so you can easily play back within PSU (again this is done in pref...

Re: Another newbie question

Without in any way trying to dictate someting that is not essential and that another person might prefer a different way: I would very much recommend a unique name unless one's workflow precludes it. I can't think of any good reasons not to (but maybe your w/f has something) so why wouldn't you? It'...

Re: Naming import subfolder discrepancy

I've had it be a bit tempramental in the past - I often check the text version of the rule when I've modified it just to make sure (i.e. as well as the "wizard" dialogue you screenshotted)
[is that really the past tense of screenshot? screenshat? (:-o) is it even a verb??!]

Re: Another newbie question

Rhod, it may help just to recap on a few basic - with humble apologies if you are already well aware of all this. PSU maintains *all* its info about images in its main catalog (database). This information is collectively known as metadata. Auxillary to this main catalog file it has a secondary datab...
