Flickr issues - post too large

Anybody else having issues sharing from PSU to flickr? I'm getting failures with certain images, either hanging and/or returning a message saying "error 93 post too large, try something smaller". The images are not especially large, and upload to flickr ok via a browser (i.e. not using PSU). A searc...

Re: Importing from iPhone

That's what I do too, albeit I use it from Android. It's a good app - it just works.

Re: preview sharpening

OK, thanks Hert. Where are the viewer options please, I couldn't see them (apart from relevant shortcuts in the shortcuts PDF)?

preview sharpening

Going through some photos in preview mode I noticed that the previews seemed to be sharpened. It's not something I've especially noticed before, perhaps it just stood out on more these. They displayed "normally" for a brief moment, then sharpened. Is there any way to turn this off? Or am I mistaken ...

Re: Location fields issues

For the images that Google AI tagged in this way I removed the areas and unassigned the labels because they were incorrect, the images were not of those places - so unfortunately I can't tell you exactly what it did with the metadata. But out of interest I just had a search for those labels in the c...

Re: Location fields issues

I misuse face tags for this purpose ... It doesn't comply with the standard, but it works, with the bonus of showing which of the multiple features is which. FWIW the Google AI feature seems to do exactly this, if it thinks it recognises a landmark - it defines it as an area and tags it so you get ...

Re: Workflow status for categories

When you create such "workflow labels" then you can also consider defining a keyboard shortcut to these catalog labels. That way you can quickly "assign" these workflow label by pressing a keyboard combination. Thanks Hert, that's excellent - I had thought that would be a great idea but hadn't real...

Re: Workflow status for categories

why do you find it clumsy to use? Only relatively compared to the other possibilities: simply because the nature of allocating a label means locating it in the list and moving the cursor to click on it. I've only recently started doing workflow this way so I'm still bedding this in TBH. If I proces...

Re: Workflow status for categories

My original post was over-long, apologies. TL;DR: "have a workflow status for categories like there is for folders. And make them non-mutually exclusive" @Hert - yes, that's my current process. It's the "option 2" in my original post (unless I'm misunderstanding). @bimo - I very much like the idea o...

Workflow status for categories

At the moment I feel PSU does not really facilitate the progression through a workflow. It seems a weak point and I would like to propose an improvement. Current situation: There are, as I see it, 3 facilities in PSU to assist workflow. 1. Colour labels. You can assign a colour label (with a user as...

Re: Folders and sorting by date

I haven't tried this, but perhaps you can use the import module? I'm thinking turn off the "import images into catalog" using the sliding toggle (as the images are already in the catalog) so that only the "copy images to new location" will operate, with your desired folder and file naming rules; opt...

Re: keyword organization

I prefer to use the places/people/events/objects paradigm as set up in PSU defaults - I find that works well. Early on in my days with idimager I tried subverting that to something I thought was better - it wasn't. So speaking from experience I would think in those terms rather than what/where/why -...

Re: Google AI - spectacularly bad!

It does have the occasional unexpected success: one image of some stepping stones was tagged as river , body of water , stream , bank , and - I had to get my dictionary out to see what this was but it was entirely accurate - riparian zone . And a shot of a sea urchin was correctly labelled under mar...

Well from the number of annoying CAPTCHAs I have to complete it must be very good at identifying fire hydrants, chimneys, traffic lights, cars, buses, bicycles and crosswalks.

Guess they've not moved on to boulders and dry stone walls yet :)
😂😂😂!!! They obviously have a long term master plan!
