Re: Geo-tagging - A User's Guide

Thanks for the kind words guys, glad it's useful. Ralf, thanks for your input. I used to use geosetter before idimager / PSU had geo capability, excellent piece of free software. But for PSU, that was one of the best enhancements IMO - thanks Hert! Interesting point about phones using the last posit...

Re: Geo-tagging - How to in PSU

This post will explain how to geotag images with PSU using GPX files, and how to avoid the “gotchas”. I have included a glossary of abbreviations at the end. Some context First, some scene setting. The only reason why the process has been troublesome is quirks, bugs and features of the software and ...

Geo-tagging - A User's Guide

Geotagging in PSU has always caused me a lot of problems. This is for a variety of reasons, as will become clear (I hope). Some of these are caused by my cameras and my tracking app, but some of it is PSU; and a combination of these issues makes confusing scenarios. Having got a little way in unders...

Re: google maps for "development purposes only"

You will see maps but with watermarks, and other functionality is restricted - see Hert's response above.

Re: this place can't load Google maps...?

I only use it for very limited purposes, but this problem is when sending messages from my own ISP to gmail addresses.

Re: google maps for "development purposes only"

I've posted this over on this thread https://mantis.idimager.com/view.php?id=3309 but will repeat here (at the risk of splitting the replies) >>> I note that RouteConverter, which was a good product, has been curtailed because of Google's changes, which have forced the developer to withd...

Re: this place can't load Google maps...?

I note that RouteConverter, which was a good product, has been curtailed because of Google's changes, which have forced the developer to withdraw his main edition. https://forum.routeconverter.com/thread-2732-post-17666.html#pid17666 . As with PSU, this is a pain for me as RC was my weapon of choice...

Re: V3 to V4 upgrade tips

Stephen, it's a quite a while ago when I upgraded but if it helps I can confirm I had no issues: I did as per Hert's post and it was easy and smooth. I don't recall how long it took, but not that long.

Re: google maps probplem...

Hert, would you explain a bit more please what is meant by "Google will then restrict the Maps usage" as I am not clear on this? Will a map be displayed? Will have a watermark obscuring it? Will limited numbers of maps be shown? Also it is rather intruiging what Bob has said about photomechanic and ...

Re: solved: Mark folder - colors are missing

Ha ha, yes I get the same when selecting colour on a thumbnail (i.e. one of the 5 colours one can assign to an image): a mouseover tip would be great to remind me what text I assigned to each colour! And while I'm here, mouseover the thumb to show a recipe icon, if image has a recipe, would also be ...

Re: Scanned transparencies

Interesting food for thought there Harald, thanks. I need to do a load of scanning at some point, and in the past never found a very good method. I think this time I may use something based on your method, and perhaps also a set of labels to indicate the precision. E.g. "year estimated", "month esti...

Re: Import (from SD/CF-card) does not work (anymore)

Hi Martin Yes that's the option - glad to have been able to help. I'm not entirely sure but I wonder if the issue with the remaining two images might be something in your import settings? Something similar threw me a few years ago - I forget the details but I'd had some issues on an import (not PSU ...

Re: how to copy path and filename

No worries and thanks for helping, it's what this great forum is all about. Strange about the browsers though - I use FF myself, I have Ghostery and NoScript installed on and other security settings so I sometimes don't see some images etc myself but I can confirm that I did see Geoff's screenshot u...
