don't understand "filter by macro command"

I am trying to filter all images that contain an entry in %xmp:dwc:Occurrence.dwc:recordNumber. For that I select "Filter By Macro Command", enter " %xmp:dwc:Occurrence.dwc:recordNumber" into the macro command box and select "contains value". I would expect all images to be returned that have "any" ...

Re: Using Darwin Core for Cataloguing Organism Photos

Hi Gcorbin, this forum used to include a private message board, where users could get in touch directly with one another. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. I don't think continuing this discussion, posting text messages here on the forum, will get us anywhere. Could you please contact me di...

Re: Using Darwin Core for Cataloguing Organism Photos

I agree that it would make sense to focus on supplying controlled vocabularies for specific taxonomic groups and ideally for specific regions as well. But compiling those lists and keeping them reasonably up-to-date can be challenging. There are some groups (orchids, birds) that are very popular and...

Re: Using Darwin Core for Cataloguing Organism Photos

Hi gcorbin, I'd be interested in helping with this. GBIF is not necessarily the best source when it comes to taxonomy. It is more focused on specimens. There are different resources for different groups of organisms. For Fungi for example, both Mycobank and Index Fungorum are the name repositories m...

Re: Cascade from this Version to the Version Set

Dear gcorbin, that is indeed an odd bug that I never noticed before. It would explain why the "verify folders for files", which I use to add additional versions added via Affinity or PhotoLab, regularly suggests that I should read the metadata also from other files because they are not up-to-date, e...

Re: Cascade from this Version to the Version Set

Hi gcorbin and Bongo, I think I can shed a bit light on this. It is a discussion I had with Hert for quite some time. There is a reason, why PSu (and previously IDI) per default treats different versions in a version set differently when it comes to metadata. Say you use your version set to keep mul...

add option to collapse keywords?

Overall, I am impressed by the speed gain in version 6. It seems that the application is generally a lot more responsive than v5. Unfortunately, there is one aspect that inadvertently now considerably slows me down - the way keywords are listed in Image details: PSU-keywords.jpg This layout, listing...

Re: version 6: GPS icon missing from thumbnail caption

Hi Hert,
that did it. By removing the spaces the indicator re-appears, although it is no longer right-aligned. I guess that's what those spaces were for - push it to the right side of the frame, which in version 6 pushed it out, "over the edge"...
Thanks again,

version 6: GPS icon missing from thumbnail caption

Hi Hert, although I figured out how to display custom captions below the thumbs in version 6, it seems one important caption is not being displayed. One of the captions would display the letters GPS in red, if an image contained coordinates. That red "GPS" no longer is being displayed. Here the five...

Re: Cascade from this Version to the Version Set

Michael Weidner's "cascade metadata" registry tweak is very useful, but like you I would love if it worked across all metadata and not just color labels and star ratings. It would be such a time-saver trying to keep all metadata automatically in-sync across all the different versions. It's been on m...
